Dear North Penn Community,
Tomorrow, May 14, 6 PM, we will be holding a School Safety Forum at North Penn High School to discuss our comprehensive approach to school safety, including the policies, practices, and measures in place. I invite every member of our community to attend, tune in online, and be informed about our current school safety practices as well as future implementations.
This forum will include a panel discussion from district leaders and local experts. Our Coordinator of Emergency Management and Safe Schools, Brandon Rhone, will provide an overview of NPSD’s school safety efforts and security measures. Additionally, the panel will include members of local law enforcement, county safety officials, mental health experts, and members of the NPSD Board of School Directors.
Our goal is to review our school safety model, but also to hear from the community. There will be opportunity for question and answer. If you are unable to attend the meeting in person, we still want to hear from you. We have a Google Form for those who cannot attend but would still like to ask questions.
This forum is being held in-person, but will be streamed by North Penn Television. NPTV can be watched on Comcast channel 28, Verizon channel 29, Youtube, and this event will also be streamed live on the NPSD Facebook page. Following the event video will be available on Youtube to watch for those unable to tune in live.
In addition, we are working with local mental health organizations and local law enforcement agencies to provide resources before and after the forum.
Beyond this forum, we have a monthly Safe Schools Committee meeting with the NPSD Board of School Directors. The schedule for those meetings, as well as all school board meetings, can be found here.
I want to wish our North Penn Community a wonderful week. I hope to see you at the forum..
Sincerely,

Todd M. Bauer, Ed.D.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month | |
Heritage month celebrations are important in providing the space to teach and learn about cultural history, and also to examine the way in which these cultures are viewed within American discourse. These are times not only to celebrate, but also to educate others on various group's histories and contributions to American history. These recognitions are an opportunity for all members of the community to learn more about the traditions, people, scholarship, history, and current experiences of those who've overcome oppression to create opportunities for all.
Please take a few minutes to view the video "What it means to be Asian American". Although these community members live in the Seattle area, their experiences mirror those that live in the North Penn community.

We need your help. Every school district across the state is experiencing a shortage of substitute teachers, which can impact student learning. If you have a four-year degree and enjoy working with children and teens, you can help us by joining the North Penn School District as a substitute teacher!
In addition to paying the highest rate in the county (starting at $180 per day; $170/day for guest teachers), we also provide great flexibility regarding daily assignments. You can share your availability and work as it fits your schedule. We will also provide training!
