Note from the Principal

April 1, 2024

Welcome North Families,

We hope you had a wonderful spring break. Springtime in schools represents the time that students are able to demonstrate all of their learning and growth. One week after break, we begin our state accountability assessment, the Forward exam. This is an important measure for our students, school, and community to ensure students in Menomonee Falls have access to high-quality schools and are performing at rates comparable to neighboring districts.

We ask for your help in ensuring your student is prepared to do their best on this assessment. Please support your student in getting adequate sleep and having a good breakfast on testing days. Reinforce with your student the importance of these assessments, but that they are not the only important measure of their performance. We want students to be prepared and motivated to do their best, not anxious and fearful to perform.

We are not at the end of the year yet, but I’d like to take this moment to pause and thank you for your partnership and support this school year in helping your student grow. I’m excited to see the results of this school year’s labor.

Teri Kovars

Congratulations to Elijah Chavez and Lucas Ward who are the March Optimist Club Students of the Month!

Forward Testing

North Middle School will begin Forward Exam testing in early April. Students will need to have wired headphones as part of the test as Bluetooth wireless earbuds are not allowed. Below is a chart of days that students will be testing.

Additional information will be provided in the upcoming Family Newsletter or can be accessed Forward Exam Brochure and Forward Info for Families.

Patrick is so awesome! He always sets an example by being prepared, ready to learn,

and helping others. I can tell that other students look up to him and really enjoy having him in class!

Patrick T. - Nominated by Ms. Hibbs

AJ is the kindest student in the building. He is the first one to step in say a kind word and offer to help with any student in need. I have seen this numerous times during this school year. He has a heart of gold and makes an effort to include peers who might be feeling left out. He has made a positive difference at North! Way to go AJ!

AJ S. - Nominated by Mrs. Tremelling

Aubrie has been showing tremendous progress this school year in VIP Reading. She continues to grasp new ideas and apply them to her work. Previously new spelling concepts were difficult for Aubrey to understand and transfer into her learning, however, she is now able to apply these skills with success. It is such a pleasure to have her in class and see her success and confidence grow.

Aubrie F. - Nominated by Mrs. Carstens
