We want to offer you the opportunity to gather online in 1 of 3 Sunday Morning Bible studies. Each group will begin at 9 AM. Follow the links below on Sunday morning to join with other people to connect around God's Word. As is usual on Sunday morning, these groups will last one hour.
If you have not read the letter from March 13 written by our K-12 Superintendent, please go here.
Week 1 of Online Learning
In our efforts to provide an effective instructional experience for your child, we hope that you will take 5 minutes to fill out this brief survey by Monday (3/23). We are grateful for the overwhelming support for your child and North Hills Christian School. These responses will help shape your child's online learning experience. We trust in God and His provisions for all of our needs in this uncertain time. We will continue to communicate with you as we have further clarity about future steps. Keep an eye out for an email from North Hills Administration next week.
Resources for Online Learning
We wanted to share with you a list of additional resources that some of our teachers have been using with their classes this week:
RightNow Media - This morning you should have received an email with an invitation to sign up for a RightNow Media account. RightNow Media is a service that provides unlimited access to their extensive library of wholesome, educational, and entertaining videos, Bible studies, and conferences. You are welcome to use this service as much as you want and for whatever purpose you may need. You will be able to access our Chapel videos for elementary, and other supporting resources that we use for middle and high school Bible classes. If you did not receive an invitation and would like to, please
email us and we will add you. This is a service that North Hills is paying for. There is absolutely no charge to you.
First grade has been utilizing
Scholastic Learn at Home. They also have categories for grades K - 6+.
Our Kindergarten teachers have created a
YouTube page full of playlists of educational videos.
Bible App for Kids - This was created by YouVersion, and helps kids to explore the big stories of the Bible t
hrough interactive adventures and beautiful animations.
Access to the library online - Check out the
OverDrive app, a free service offered by your library that lets you borrow digital content (like ebooks and audiobooks) anytime, anywhere. You can sync your library card when setting it up, or if you don't have a library card, apply for one through Solano County
here. This is a great way to find books for AR Points! Just be sure that the book you are checking out is available for an AR test
here.
Reducing Social Isolation
We know this new reality of social distancing can be difficult for you and your family. It's more important now than ever to create connections with others. Check out these tips from Beyond Differences to help you and your children build community and prevent social isolation:
Text a friend or relative and ask how they're doing.
Like and comment on a friend's post, leave kind messages, acknowledge them, let them know they are seen and appreciated, especially someone who doesn't always get a lot of attention online.
Video chat with your friends and relatives.
Send a friendly snap or group text to your classmates and friends.
Reach out to an old friend you haven't spoken to in a while and just say "hi."
Set up a Group FaceTime to host a study group.
Share your talents. Create a video or go live on social media and teach a new skill.
To access your child's enrollment packet, please visit your
Family Portal, select Apply / Enroll, then Enrollment / Reenrollment. This must be completed on a desktop computer or laptop. We encourage you to take a moment to complete this before spots fill up! If you are having trouble accessing your Family Portal or the Enrollment Packet, please
email us.
Preschool Resources
This past week you should have received an email from Ms. Jenny with resources to help keep your kids busy and learning during this break. If you did not receive it, please
email us to let us know.
Here are some additional websites that might help to keep your kiddos busy (and entertained):
