NORTH ALLEGHENY WELCOMES THREE NEW TIGERS!

Tonight, the Board of School Directors approved the appointment of an Assistant Principal at CMS, a Supervisor of Special Education, and an NAI Music Teacher/Marching Band Director. Learn more about these new members of our NA team below.


Mrs. Janel Biagiarelli will be the Assistant Principal at Carson Middle School.

Mrs. Biagiarelli comes to North Allegheny from the Shaler Area School District where she has spent the past two years as an Assistant Principal at Shaler Area Middle School.


"I am thrilled to accept the Assistant Principal position at Carson Middle School," said Mrs. Biagiarelli. "I am eager to meet the students and families of Carson, and to work collaboratively towards academic excellence. It is an honor to join this prestigious district, and I look forward to helping our students reach their fullest potential.”


Prior to working at Shaler, Mrs. Biagiarelli spent eight years as a Reading Specialist and seven years as an 8th Grade ELA Teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Point Park University and a Master of Education degree from Edinboro University.

Dr. Carrie Frohnapfel will serve as the new Supervisor of Special Education.

Dr. Frohnapfel will join North Allegheny after spending 14 years at the AIU in the roles of Director of Preschool Early Intervention, Training and Consultation Coordinator, and School Improvement Implementation and Monitoring Coordinator. She holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Special Education and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.


Dr. Frohnapfel said, "I am extremely excited to begin this journey with the staff and students at North Allegheny! I am looking forward to building lasting relationships with the staff, students, and our parents and family members. Building and supporting special education programs has been the primary focus of my career, and I am proud to say the next step of my journey will include becoming a Tiger! Any change can be a challenge, but with great colleagues and a relentless focus on supporting our students, we will do incredible things here at NA!"

Mr. Bob Matchett has been named as the NAI Music Teacher/Marching Band Director.

Mr. Matchett comes to North Allegheny from Connoquenessing Valley Elementary where he has been a music teacher for the past three years. Prior to his time in Connoquenessing, Bob spent 22 years at his alma mater, Seneca Valley Senior High School, as their Band Director and Music Theory Teacher.


Mr. Matchett has a Bachelor of Music degree from from the University of Ohio/Youngstown State University. Mr. Matchett is a freelance trombonist who has performed and toured with many groups including: the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, Rosemary Clooney, Toshiko Akiyoshi, The Temptations, The Pittsburgh “CLO” Broadway Series, The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Kristin Chenoweth, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, The Altoona Symphony, Warren Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, and numerous others. You may have also heard him play on the NA Stage where he has accompanied our choirs from time to time.


"I am humbled and honored to be the new Band Director of the North Allegheny Tiger Marching Band. The North Allegheny Marching Band has a long tradition of excellence. I look forward to continuing and building upon the NA tradition. I want to thank the NA Administration and School Board for providing me with this amazing opportunity," said Mr. Matchett.
