2024 Giving Challenge Website is Now Live!


The 2024 Giving Challenge website is now live. Visit www.GivingChallenge.org to get your early questions answered on the FAQs page, keep track of upcoming trainings, and save key dates to your calendars.

Registration Opens November 1, 2023


Registration for the 2024 Giving Challenge starts November 1, 2023, and closes on January 12, 2024. Registration begins much earlier than past giving challenges for the purpose of giving nonprofits a wider window to register for the big day.

Develop/Update Your Profile in

The Giving Partner by January 12, 2023


Organizations must have an updated profile in The Giving Partner to be eligible to participate in the 2024 Giving Challenge. Whether you're creating a new profile or updating an existing one, submit it for review by 5:00 pm EST January 12, 2024.

Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund Grants

Apply by August 31


Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund grants support the work of organizations with programs in disaster recovery. Grant proposals focused on case management, children & youth services/education, home repair and housing needs, legal services, long term recovery groups and COAD support, mental and behavioral health will receive priority.


The application closes on August 31. Applicants will be notified of their status by the end of September 2023.

Capacity Building Grants

Apply by September 1


Capacity Building grants help improve a nonprofit's ability to fulfill its mission by strengthening its capacity. Capacity strengthening areas include fundraising, leadership, communication, evaluation, and emergency needs. An average grant award through this cycle is $5,000 to $10,000. Most proposals for working with a consultant will be considered at 50% of the consultant’s fee.


The next application cycle closes on September 1, 2023.

Athena Giving Circle Grants

Apply by September 15


The Athena Progressive Giving Circle will award up to $27,000 to projects that either 1) supports aiding young adult women with special needs, with an emphasis on helping individuals successfully transition to independent living, or 2) addresses the critical social, interpersonal, hygienic, mental health, and life skill needs of homeless women and girls.


The application opens August 4 and closes September 15, 2023.

Mission Mavericks

Pro Bono Communications Support Opportunity

The Central West Coast chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) is launching a new endeavor, "Mission Mavericks," to provide pro bono communications support to 501(c)(3) nonprofits with limited or no PR, communications and/or marketing staff. The organization must be based in or conduct significant business/activities in Sarasota, Manatee and/or DeSoto counties. Examples of potential projects might include: providing a custom press release template and best practices for media outreach; building out brand guidelines, including logo design; developing a list of local media contacts; setting up an e-newsletter template and guidance on content development; and more.


Applications will be accepted through October 1. Applicants will be notified of their status by October 31. All project work will be conducted between November 1, 2023, through February 28, 2024. Learn more and apply at this link: cwcfpra.com/mission-mavericks
