Dear friends,

Giving season is upon us! In addition to the latest programming news from the Campus of Caring, we have a few exciting updates to share.

First and foremost, our annual appeal is in full swing. Your generosity makes a significant impact in our mission to serve the human service nonprofit community. With our Annual Giving Guide, you can see the many ways you can support us through the rest of our fiscal year ending in June.

Next, we invite you to nominate exceptional individuals for our Emerging Leader program. Three passionate, dedicated individuals will be chosen to enhance their leadership skills in preparation for the future of our region. Nominations are open until November 30 - we look forward to hearing from you!

Lastly, be sure to mark your calendar for the Collaboration Celebration on February 29, 2024. This year we'll celebrate over breakfast while we recognize the 2024 Emerging Leader awardees. Sponsorships and tickets available now. For our nonprofit friends, there are a limited number of tickets at a reduced nonprofit fate. Act now before they're all gone!

Wishing that your month is filled with the spirit of family, giving, and gratitude.

Happy fall!

2023 Campus Halloween

This October we celebrated the organizations and staff on campus with our 2023 Campus Halloween.

The conference room was filled with decorations, a taco bar from the Sarasota Catering Company, and plenty of spooky desserts, of course. The event was made all the better seeing how many campus staff members show up in full costumes!

GS Connects: Grantwriting

Mark your Calendars for GS Connects: Program Reporting

This is the second part of our Grant Writing series. In the first section attendees covered finding and writing grants, and in this next session we'll be looking at program reporting.

You can find out more about this event and how to RSVP here.

Campus Connection events are made possible through funding from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

UWS 211 Podcast

211 is a lifeline for our community, providing essential support to individuals and families in times of crisis. Executive Director Charlene Altenhain discussed the relevance of the information and referral service last month with United Way Suncoast's Chief Impact Officer, Bronwyn Beightol in their Freedom to Rise podcast.

Topics include primary reasons people call, disaster and crisis responses, and what happens if the service is no longer available.

Elevator Renovations

With all the updates to our campus fence and greenspaces, it was time to give our elevator a much needed renovation!

The elevator is currently undergoing repairs and maintenance, and it will feature a fresh, modern interior once the work is finished. It is temporarily closed for the ongoing renovations but will soon be ready to serve the campus with a stylish new appearance!

NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN

Emerging Leader nominations

Nominations for the second annual Emerging Leader Awards are open! Sponsored by Bill and Barbara Little, the program selects three emerging leaders in physical, behavioral, and environmental health; human services; and arts and culture.

Tiona Settles of CenterPlace Health was one of the recipients of the inaugural award this past February. "The Emerging Leader program was a great experience, particularly the opportunities we had to network and hear from leaders across Sarasota County," said Settles. "I learned that regardless of whether you've been in your role for one year or 30 years there is something that we can all take away to improve our leadership abilities."
