Motel 66
The actors dig deep, using the stories of death and birth and marital strife and fear and love to get to the heart of life. The performances are nuanced and full of warmth and understanding. The cast is big and brash and welcoming, it’s really a revelation in a way. All these disparate souls just looking for some connection and ending up in the same place, sitting around a motel pool wondering how they got there. Review>>

Bisexual Sadness
The performances are vivid and brashly beautiful. They play their roles with nuance and candor and a sweet goofiness that brings us immediately into their inner circle.
Very funny, very real, very engaging. The actors all fit together with that magical kind of effortlessness that happens sometimes in theatre. It delivers the kind of show that feels like your own life…Review>>

Queen of the Rumba
“Queen of the Rumba” is both a celebration of Rumba and of the freedom performing can bring us. Alicia’s story is written with love, admiration and a lot of humor. As the older Alicia holds court in the hospital and spins her tale, the audience is utterly riveted. Josefina Lopez is a brilliant storyteller.

Almost Made
Full of intricately worked anecdotes, stories within stories and a slow build to a powerful emotional conclusion. It flows beautifully, like “Goodfellas,” with incredible characters and no agenda or judgment and yet there is at its center, the breaking of a boy’s heart. It’s also very, very funny, with gorgeously wrought twists and turns, all play out with panache and poignancy by the writer and wonderful actor Louie Liberti. Review>>

Mami, What’s Your 20?
The charisma and raw emotional output from this “Mother Trucker” was infectious and endearing. This show was more than an empowerment of one over a series of obstacles. This show was about the triumph of the human spirit. Nadeen Gautier is a true storyteller with one heck of a story to tell. In my book, this show passes with an ‘A’.
