The X Center: Holiday Hours

The X Center will be open from 8 am to 6 pm on Thursday, July 4th. On July 4th, Tot Drop will be closed and group ex classes are cancelled for the day.

Aquatics Center: Holiday Hours

The Aquatics Center will be open 1pm to 6 pm for general swim on the 4th of July. Splash Time and Lap Swim will operate with normal hours. No swim lessons will be held on Thursday, July 4th.

Walk & Stretch

Walking is a great first step to improving health and wellness for everyone! This group class is a low-impact structured walking program that is intended to get individuals moving to reduce the symptoms associated with chronic pain, while improving overall health, and working to improve flexibility. The program will be Mondays and Wednesdays, June 3^rd – August 28^th, from 10 to 10:45 am. The class is free with a membership to The X Center. 

GMHMA Martial Arts

Join Grandmaster Han's World Youn Wha Ryu Tae Kwon Do! The classes are for all skill levels and will focus on being patient, being polite, being alert, being brave, doing your best, and respecting yourself and others while learning martial arts.

Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays

Time: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Open To: Ages 5 years old - Adult

Location: The X Center

Fees: $50 per month tuition ($60 start up cost, includes uniform, payable to GMHMA Springfield at the first class).

Pickleball

Play the fast growing and popular game of Pickleball! Open play is held Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:30 am to 10:30 am and Fridays from 7 am to 10 am at The X Center. The fee is $5 per day and members of The X Center are free.

Summer Art Classes

Painting Junkie is excited to be teaching painting classes to kids ages 7 to 12 years old. In the classes, join us in following step by step instructions painting with Ms. Debbie of Painting Junkie. You will be able to customize your painting with your own colors and embellishments to make it your own in the end. Debbie Hightower is a retired teacher who loves kids and art. Her mission is showing everyone they are artists especially when they don’t believe it themselves. All the supplies will be provided. Please dress your child in clothes that can get dirty. 

Registration: Ends the Tuesday prior to the class date.

Class Dates: July 2nd, July 9th

Class Time: 7 - 9 years old, 9 am - 10:30 am. 10 - 12 years old, 10:30 am - 12 pm.

Who: Ages 7 to 12 years old.

Fees: $25 per class.

Land O'Frost: Softball Clinic

The softball clinic is sponsored by Land O'Frost. The clinic will focus on teaching basic to advanced softball skills and will be hosted by Nixa High School softball coach, Matt Walker with assistance from members of the Nixa High School softball team.

Dates: July 8th and July 9th

Open To: Girls entering 1st - 8th grade.

Sensory Swim In Partnership with CC Links

Join Nixa Parks and CC Links for the Sensory Swim! Sensory Swim will be held on Friday, July 12th, 10 - 11:30 am. During this time, we will keep the music off, whistles will be quieter, and we will help create a calm, sensory friendly space focused in the zero depth entry side of the pool. Admission is free! 

Tennis Lessons with Coach Ray Still

Former collegiate coach, Ray Still, will instruct each participant and help build proper form and technique of each participant. The non-contact, safe sport of tennis is great in terms of health and fitness. Tennis also develops hand-eye coordination, balance, and body coordination. Tennis nurtures work ethic and discipline, all the while teaching young players responsibility and sportsmanship. Lessons will be held April, May, June, July, and August on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Open to ages 6 years old and older. Registration is $50 per four week session.

The Movies in the Park series is presented by The Massengale Group of KW. All movies are held at McCauley Park, begin at dusk, and all movies are FREE! Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase. All movies are dependent on weather. No smoking and no alcohol.

Summer It Up: Day Camp

Join Nixa Parks and Recreation for Summer It Up! The schedule is packed with field trips, activities, games, crafts, contests, guest speakers, and much, much more! The day camp is offered Monday through Friday (with the exception of Memorial Day and the 4th of July), from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. The program is open to children ages 5 (must have completed Kindergarten) to 12 years old; Kindergarten - 6th grade.

Summer camp will begin May 28th and end the day Nixa Public Schools start school for the 2024-2025 school year. The fees for the program are as follows: $25 (per family) registration fee, Members (per week) $96.50, Non-Members (per week) $110. To complete the registration packet, please visit The X Center at 701 N Taylor Way, Nixa MO 65714.

Season Pool Passes and Punch Cards

Members: $110 per person; additional person(s) within same household $25. Rate all season.

Nixa Residents: $125 per person; additional person(s) within same household $35.

Non-Residents: $140 per person; additional person(s) within same household $45.

Punch Cards: Good for 10 visits to the pool which can be used for anyone on any day! Residents $45 and Non-Residents $55. To purchase passes or punch cards, please visit The X Center.

Swim Lessons

There are 7 levels of swim lessons. Each level has 4 sessions, with each session consisting of 8 total classes. Classes are held Monday - Thursday for two weeks. In case of inclement weather or holidays, Friday may be used as a makeup day. Classes are 35 minutes long. Registration for swim lessons ends the Thursday prior to the session start date. Fees for Swim Lessons are as follows: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60. For details on each lesson and available times--contact us! Fridays are reserved as rain make up days. 

Swim Lesson Levels:

Tadpoles: Ages 6 months – 3 years old. An adult WILL be required to be in the water.

Intro to Swim: At least 4 years old by the first class. An adult MAY be required to be in the water.

Levels 1 – 5: At least 5 years old by the first class.

Session 1:

June 17th - June 27th

Session 2: 

July 1st - July 11th (no class July 4th, makeup class will be held July 5th)

Session 3:

July 15th - July 25th

Jr. Lifeguard

Ever wonder what it would be like to be a Lifeguard? Check out Jr. Lifeguards! Registration ends Thursday, July 11th--space is limited to 30 kids! The program is open to ages 10 to 15 years old. The fees for the program are as follows: Members $35, Nixa Residents $40, Non-Residents $45. Classes will be held Monday - Thursday from 11 am - 12 pm, July 15th - 25th. 

Soccer Summer Camp!

Join Nixa Parks and Challenger Sports for an International Soccer Camp without leaving your area! Coached by our team of international and US-based staff, our week-long half day and full day soccer camps improve your child’s soccer skills whilst providing a unique cultural experience.

Rooted in British training methodology, these camps introduce our international training tactics to campers across the U.S and Canada. Our curriculum and coaching foundation meets engaging delivery for an all-around positive experience.

We channel our energy and passion for the game into a fun yet developmental environment. As industry experts, we have crafted an approach which uses methodologies from all around the world to truly reflect the global nature of the sport today.

We use age appropriate practices to help players develop at their own pace, learn brand new skills and become an all-round better player...while having an amazing time with our international coaching staff!

Includes an educational approach that uses soccer to teach the core values of responsibility, integrity. respect, sportsmanship and leadership. Most camps will include a free soccer ball, jersey and certificate, as well as other early registration incentives.

Please note that there will be a $10 late fee at most of our camp sites for campers registering within 10 days of the camp start date. Many camps will fill up and be closed prior to this date – please register early to avoid disappointment.

Includes access to a virtual coaching world, motivating players to practice more at home before, during and after their program on the field!

Fall Recreational Volleyball

Recreational Volleyball is geared towards introducing and fostering girls 3rd through 6th grade an interest in volleyball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.

Season Dates: Games will be held September 16th/17th - October 14th/15th. 3rd/4th grade plays on Monday evenings; 5th/6th grade plays on Tuesday evenings. The season ending tournament will be held on Saturday, October 19th. Practice begins the week of September 2nd.

Open To: The program is open to girls in 3rd - 6th grade.

Location: Games will be played and practices will be held at The X Center.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Registration: June 10th - August 14th. Late registration August 15th - 18th with a $10 additional late fee.

Fall Recreational Soccer

Recreational Soccer is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in soccer. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun. The league is open to boys and girls; it is comprised of 5 different divisions, 3&4 years old, 5 years old and Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, and 6th – 8th grade.

Season Dates: September 14th - October 19th. Practices begin the week of September 2nd.

Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by September 14th) to 8th grade.

Location: Games will be played on Saturdays at McCauley Park and practices are held at Rotary Park.

Fees: Members $45, Nixa Residents $50, Non-Residents $60.

Registration: June 10th - August 14th. Late registration from August 15th - 18th with an additional $10 late fee.

Courts at The X Center:

Closed for Maintenance August 5th - 12th

The courts at The X Center will be closed for maintenance Monday, August 5th - Sunday, August 11th. The courts will reopen Monday, August 12th at 8:30 am.

During this time there will be no pickleball, volleyball, or basketball.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we apply a polyurethane coating to protect and maintain the court floor.

Friends of the Park: Pool Party

All are welcome to the Friends of the Park: Summer Pool Party! This FREE event will be held at the Aquatics Center. Princesses of the 417 will be visiting with mermaids for fun and photos! Come swim with us—the pool party will be held on Saturday, August 24th from 6 - 8 pm. After the Pool Party, join us for the Movie in the Park!
