Swim Lessons

There are 6 levels of swim lessons. Each level has 4 sessions, with each session consisting of 8 total classes. Classes are held Monday - Thursday for two weeks. In case of inclement weather or holidays, Friday may be used as a make up day. Tadpoles and Intro to Swim are 30 minute classes; Levels 1 - 5 are 35 minute classes. Registration for swim lessons ends the Thursday prior to the session start date--space is limited! For details on each lessons, available times, or for private lessons--contact us! Fridays are reserved as rain make up days.

Fees for Swim Lessons are as follows: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.

Jr. Lifeguards
Ever wonder what it would be like to be a Lifeguard? Check out Jr. Lifeguards! Registration ends Thursday, July 15th--space is limited to 30 kids!
 
The program is open to ages 10 to 15 years old. The fees for the program are as follows: Members $32, Nixa Residents $37, Non-Residents $42.
 
Classes will be held Monday - Thursday from 11 am - 12 pm July 19th through 29th.
Movie in the Park Series

The Movies in the Park series is presented by the Massengale Group. All movies are held at McCauley Park, begin at dusk, and all movies are FREE! Please bring lawn chairs or blankets. Concessions will be available for purchase. All movies are dependent on weather. No smoking and no alcohol.

July 10th: Jurassic World (PG 13)
August 14th: Croods - A New Age (PG)
September 11th: Incredibles 2 (PG)
September 25th: Trolls World Tour (PG)
Tennis Lessons: July

The non-contact, safe sport of tennis is great in terms of health and fitness. Tennis develops hand-eye coordination, balance, and body coordination. Moreover, tennis nurtures work ethic and discipline, all while teaching young players responsibility and sportsmanship. Former collegiate coach, Ray Still will instruct each participant and help build proper form and technique for each player.
 
Dates: Tuesdays, July 6th - July 22nd (Ages 6 - 11 meet 5:30 - 6:30 pm; ages 12 & up meet 6:30 - 7:30 pm). Thursdays, July 8th - July 29th (Ages 6 - 11 meet 5:30 - 6:30 pm or 6:30 - 7:30 pm). Participants will register for one meeting day and one meeting time.

Open To: Ages 6 years old and older
Location: Tennis Courts at Rotary Park
Fees: $45 per participant (per 4 week session)
Registration: Ends July 2nd (space is limited).
 
Summer It Up!

Join Nixa Parks and Recreation for Summer It Up! The schedule is packed with field trips, activities, games, crafts, contests, guest speakers, and much, much more! The day camp is offered Monday through Friday (with the exception of Memorial Day), from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. The program is open to children ages 5 to 12 years old; entering Kindergarten - 6th grade.
 
Summer camp will end the day Nixa Public Schools start school for the 2021-2022 school year. The fees for the program are as follows: $25 (per family) registration fee, Members (per week) $96.50, Non-Members (per week) $110.
Friends of the Park: Pool Party
All are welcome to the Friends of the Park: Summer Pool Party! This FREE event will be held at the Aquatics Center. Come swim with us—the pool party will be held on Sunday, June 27th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.                 
Basketball Clinic: July 13th or July 15th

The Basketball Clinic, led by Stan Jacocks, will teach basic and advanced basketball skills. Stan has an extensive background playing and coaching basketball. He played in college at CBC, was an assistant men's and head women's coach at Baptist Bible College, and is currently an assistant coach for the Evangel University men's basketball team.

Dates: 1st - 3rd grade, July 13th, 9 am - 11am
4th - 6th grade, July 13th, 1 pm - 3 pm
7th - 8th grade, July 15th, 9 am - 11 am
High School, July 15th, 1 pm - 3 pm.
Open To: 1st - 12th grade
Location: The X Center
Fees: $20 per participant
Registration: Ends July 12th. 
Bears 4 Life: Basketball Skills Camp

Date: July 29th
9 am - 12 pm, K - 4th grade
1 pm - 4 pm, 5th - 8th grade
*Make sure to bring your own basketball!

Registration: $35 per participant by July 28th. $40 per participant on July 29th.

Camp Information: Receive instruction from former D1 players and coaches. Learn how to become a better player and teammate. Camp will include skill work, team and individual challenges, and games.
Volleyball Clinic

Nixa High School Volleyball Coach, Annie Zimmerman, will conduct a clinic for incoming 3rd - 6th grade girls. Basic to advanced skills will be taught.

Date: August 2nd
10 am - 12 pm, 3rd - 4th grade
1 pm - 3 pm, 5th - 6th grade
Location: The X Center
Fees: $20 per participant
Registration: Ends July 30th
Sensory Swim with CC Links

Join Nixa Parks and CC Links for the Sensory Swim! Sensory Swim will be held on Friday, August 6th, 10 - 11:30 am. During this time, we will keep the music off, whistles will be quieter, and we will help create a calm, sensory friendly space focused in the zero depth entry side of the pool. Admission is free, if possible please bring a canned food item for donation.
Fall Recreational Soccer

Recreational Soccer is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in soccer. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun. The league is open to boys and girls; it is comprised of 4 different divisions, 3&4 years old, 5 years old and Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, and 6th-8th grade. Games for every division are on Saturday mornings/afternoons.
 
Season Dates: September 18th - October 23rd
 
Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by September 18th) to 8th grade.
 
Location: Games will be played on Saturdays at McCauley Park and practices are held at Rotary Park.
 
Fees: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.
 
Registration: Ends August 18th. Late registration from August 19th - 22nd with an additional $10 late fee.
Fall Recreational Volleyball

Recreational Volleyball is geared towards introducing and fostering girls 3rd through 6th grade an interest in volleyball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.
 
Season Dates: September 20th/21st - October 18th/19th. 3rd/4th grade plays on Monday evenings; 5th/6th grade plays on Tuesday evenings. The season ending tournament will be held on Saturday, October 24th.
 
Open To: The program is open to girls in 3rd - 6th grade.
 
Location: Games will be played and practices will be held at The X Center.
 
Fees: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.
 
Registration: Ends August 18th. Late registration
August 19th - 22nd with a $10 additional late fee.
Indoor Garage Sale

The Indoor Garage Sale will take place on Saturday, August 21st, from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Entrance is FREE to the public. Registration for booth spaces begins July 1st. Space is limited—please register early! A 10x10 space is $20 and a 10x15 space is $30. Tables are available for $5 per table. The X Center reserves the right to refuse any item inappropriate for sale in this event. No concession items allowed.
