Fitness Schedule: Holiday Hours

On Thanksgiving Day, November 25th, The X Center will be closed.

On Friday, November 26th, The X Center will be open from 8:30 am to 5 pm (no group ex classes and no tot drop).

The X Center will resume normal business hours on Saturday, November 27th.
 
On December 24th, The X Center will be open 5 am - 6:30 pm (no tot drop and no group ex classes). The X Center will be closed on December 25th. 

On December 31st, The X Center will be open 5 am - 6:30 pm (no tot drop and no group ex classes).
The X Center will be closed on January 1st.
NASP: Afterschool Archery Program

NASP Afterschool Archery Program follows the mission and guiding principles set by NASP. The program has a Beginner Class open to anyone 4th grade through 12th grade. It also has an Open Shoot Class open to 4th - 12th who has successfully completed the Beginner Class. All equipment will be provided. The program will use Genesis Bows and Easton 1820 arrows. No other equipment is allowed.

Registration: Ends the Thursday prior to the session start date.

Open To: 4th - 12th grade

Dates: Monday, Wednesday, Friday for 2 weeks
Winter Session 1: January 17th - January 28th
Winter Session 2: January 31st - February 11th
Times: Beginner Class, 3:45 - 4:35 pm
Open Shoot Class, 4:45 - 5:35 pm

Location: Classes are held at The X Center

Fee: $22 Members, $25 Nixa Residents, $27 Non-Residents
Recreational Basketball

Recreational Basketball is geared towards introducing and fostering interest in basketball. Emphasis is on learning the game and having fun.
 
Season Dates: Saturday, January 8th - February 12th.

Open To: Boys and girls ages 3 years old (must be 3 by January 8th) to 6th grade.

Location: Games are played at The X Center and Nixa Public Schools.

Fees: Members $42, Nixa Residents $47, Non-Residents $55.

Registration: Ends December 1st. Late registration from December 2nd - December 5th with a $10 additional late fee.
Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony & Cocoa with the Community (hosted by LEAD Nixa)

Ready to kick off the holiday season? Join us December 3rd at McCauley Park, beginning at 6pm for the Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Cocoa With The Community (Hosted by LEAD Nixa). We’ll debut Nixa’s new musical Christmas Tree, and we’re bringing the community together with crafts, FREE hot cocoa and refreshments, and performances by Nixa Public Schools choirs and the CC Links Rhythm group. You’ll also be able to meet Santa and take photos! This family-friendly event will be a great chance to connect as a community and enjoy a festive evening.
 
Special thanks to the Nixa Community Foundation for funding the Cocoa with the Community aspect of this event, which is being hosted by LEAD Nixa. LEAD Nixa is all about bringing everyone together across our community in a spirit of neighborliness and unity. We want everyone to be included and welcome!
Letters to Santa

Write to Santa, c/o Nixa Parks and Recreation, P.O. Box 395, Nixa, MO 65714. Please include an important event or accomplishment for 2021, a wish list, mailing address, email address, parent first and last name, and phone number. In order to receive your letter from Santa, he must receive yours no later than December 3rd, 2021.
67th Annual Nixa Christmas Parade

On Sunday, December 5th, Nixa will hold its annual 67th Christmas Parade! This year’s theme is ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’. The parade will start at 2:00 pm.
 
Parade Route: Leaving from The X Center, the parade will travel west on North St., turn right on to Main (north) to Aven and turn left (west), take Aven to Fort St. (south), south on Fort St. to Wasson (west), west on Wasson to McCroskey (north), north on McCroskey to Lorene (east), east on Lorene to Main St. (north), north on Main St. to Short St. (east), East on Short St., to Frank (south), south on Frank to Kyle (east), east on Kyle to the back driveway of the Nixa Jr. High.

Parade participants: Registration will end on Monday, November 29th.
Winter Break Camp

While Nixa is out of school for Winter Break—join us, at The X Center, for a camp full of fun and awesome activities. Registration ends December 22nd.

Camp will be held Monday - Friday, December 23rd - December 31st from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.

The program is open to ages 5 years old to 6th grade. The fees for the program are as follows (per day): Members $17, Nixa Residents $22, Non-Residents $27. Please send a sack lunch and two snacks each day.
Pickleball

Play the fast growing and popular game of Pickleball! Open play is held Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7:30 am to 10:30 am at The X Center. The fee is $5 per day and members of The X Center are free.
Nixa Dog Park    
Get ready to bark at the park! The Nixa Dog Park is located at 1137 Norton Rd. This new city park features separate areas for small and large dogs. The Nixa Dog Park will be open every day of the year from 7am to 30 minutes after sunset.
 
To enter the park, a Nixa Dog Park Pass will be required. How to obtain your pass:
Anyone may purchase a Nixa Dog Park Pass at The X Center (701 N Taylor Way) Mondays- Fridays 8:30am – 5:00pm.

  •  To purchase a pass, proof of vaccination for Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella is required for each dog you bring to the Nixa Dog Park.

  •  The registration fee for a Nixa Dog Park Pass is $20 (up to two dogs per pass). For the remainder of 2021 and 2022, we will be selling passes for 2022 (valid through Dec. 31 2022). The pass is good for an unlimited number of visits until the expiration date.

  • If you reside inside Nixa city limits, you will also be required to show or purchase a Nixa Dog License. This can also be purchased at The X Center. $2/year for spayed or neutered dogs. $3/year if not spayed or neutered. These licenses expire December 31 each year and must be renewed annually for each dog kept inside city limits. (For the remainder of 2021 and 2022, we will be selling dog licenses for 2022, which means they will be valid through Dec. 31, 2022.)

  • Currently, there is no restroom for humans at the dog park. The City has ordered and is awaiting delivery of the permanent restroom facility which will be added at the park pending supply chain delays. A grand opening event for this park will be planned for a later date yet to be announced.
 
Please remember to pick up after your dog! Bags and a trash can will be provided at the facility, and failure to pick up after your dog will be considered a violation of city ordinance, subject to fine.
 
Sponsorships of the dog park are available to assist the Nixa Parks Department with the cost to add new amenities to the park. Email info@nixaparks.com for more information on sponsorships!
Indoor Garage Sale

The Indoor Garage Sale will take place on Saturday, February 26th, 2022, from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Entrance is FREE to the public. Registration for booth spaces begins December 1st. Space is limited—please register early! A 10x10 space is $20 and a 10x15 space is $30. Tables are available for $5 per table. The X Center reserves the right to refuse any item inappropriate for sale in this event. No concession items allowed.
