This month, Mayor Steele writes about the budgeting process for 2021, including an update on COVID-19's unexpected impact on city tax revenue.
Be sure your loved ones are counted in the census. You can still complete the census at my2020census.gov thru Oct. 5th.
Working For You
The Strategic Planning Advisory Committee reviewed the public's input from "Imagine Nixa", held over 27 hours of discussion with city leadership staff to understand challenges facing the community and the municipal government, and have drafted their Recommendations Report for City Council to review. Council will discuss the report prior to adopting a final draft of the city's 5-year Strategic Plan. This discussion is on the agenda for the next city council meeting on October 13th which will begin at 7pm at Nixa City Hall.

Take the follow-up survey by October 4th to help the city craft its 20-year Comprehensive Plan for future growth and development.
Don't park on these streets during the next few weeks (until each street is finished being resurfaced) as crews mill away the old street surfaces and overlay fresh asphalt.

Parks Programs
Yoga in the Park
Bring your towel, mat, and water and come ready to relax in an outdoor setting. We will be guided through a 60-minute yoga session by a certified yoga instructor. This class is free and open all community members and fitness levels. We will meet at McCauley Park beneath the willow tree.
