In this section you will find helpful links that will help you as you begin the new school year. Some of this information was shared earlier in the summer so we do apologize for the repeat - however, it is all information that is useful, especially for our new families!

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
- Our very important Back to School night will be on Thursday, September 14 beginning at 6:00 pm. We will begin in the main sanctuary for a brief general session and then disburse to the classrooms. There will be three 20 minute sessions to allow you to visit multiple grades. This is a great time to learn about what will be happening in your child's/children's classrooms throughout the year and what you can expect. It is important that at least one parent from each family be present. Please note that NO childcare will be available this night. You may bring your children with you but they are expected to remain with you at all times. The evening will be finished by 7:30 pm.

CLASSROOM NEWSLETTERS
- On the first day of each school week, each teacher will generate a Class Newsletter that will be included in your weekly Classroom Correspondence envelope. There will not be a newsletter this week as the classes will be focused primarily on orienting the students to the classroom and School routines.

IF YOU PLAN TO VOLUNTEER AT NCS...
- We love having our parents be an active part of the NCS community and this can take on many different aspects - from helping in the classroom, helping in the lunch room, driving on a field trip, class parties and more!
NCS
require that all parents, grandparents, etc. who are actively participating with NCS students have the required clearances prior to volunteering.
These clearances include:
PA Criminal History Check
PA Child Abuse Clearance
FBI Fingerprint (or a signed Affidavit if you have lived in Pennsylvania for at least the last 10 years)
Our School website (
www.nittanychristian.com) has convenient links to access these clearances and the Affidavit. You may find these links at:
Once you have obtained your clearances, please bring them to the School office so that we may retain a copy on file.

SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY
-
The NCS School Board approved the implementation of a modified uniform policy beginning with the 2017-18 school year. The uniform will consist of a navy blue polo shirt, bearing the NCS logo on the left chest, for all students. In addition, students in grades 6-8 will also be required to have a pair of khaki pants. This modified school uniform will only be required for designated days of the year (TBA).
NCS does have a School Store at French Toast that provides the approved polos at a reasonable price.
You may access the School Store by clicking here:
Please note that you
are not able to reach the NCS store by going to
www.frenchtoast.com. You must use the above link to access our store!
Important note! Middle School students who already have a navy blue polo from Fine Arts will not need to purchase an additional polo unless you wish to have a second one.
Uniform days will be designated throughout the School year when all students will be required to be in School uniform.
Because we have many new students who joined later in the summer, we will not have a uniform day immediately in order to allow our new families time to purchase their polo. We are currently offering a special of 10% off of your total order for all orders placed through September 10th!

SUMMER BOX TOP CHALLENGE
At the end of the school year, all students were challenged to complete a
Mega Box Top sheet (50 Box Tops) throughout the summer. This will be a great way to kick off our Box Top collection in September for the 2017-18 school year.
A handy tip is to keep your Box Top collection sheet on the side of the refrigerator or the kitchen bulletin board. Then when you use a product with a Box Top on it, simply neatly clip it, check the expiration date and then tape or glue it onto your sheet! Presto! Before you know it - your sheet is full!
Already filled your Mega Box Top sheet? Go ahead and start another one, here is the link to print another sheet!
We encourage you to visit
www.boxtops4education, and select Nittany Christian School as your school. Here you will find great recipe ideas, coupons and different sweepstakes and opportunities to earn additional Box Tops for NCS.
Our first Box Top collection will be on Wednesday, September 27th!
