Letter from Fr Joseph:
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We are Catholic Christians who seek to be faithful to Jesus Christ and to the Magisterium. Yet, we are deeply pained by the abuses and cover-ups that have plagued the Catholic Church over the past 50 plus years, especially in the United States, including the lie of calling this sexually deviant behavior pedophilia when the vast majority of it has been predatory homosexual in nature. We are grieving over the young people who have been sexually violated by some mentally and spiritually sick priests and further victimized by a number of bishops who failed to protect their sheep. We pray for justice and for healing for the victims and their families and all who have been scandalized by this diabolical abuse of power.
We believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Christ and is therefore holy, and that She is sustained by the Holy Eucharist. We believe that Jesus will never abandon His bride. Even though some of her leaders have been unfaithful, “He will always remain faithful, because He cannot deny Himself.” “The gates of hell shall not prevail against His Church.”
Our faith tells us that we are one body in Christ, and that “we rejoice with those who rejoice and we weep with those who weep.”
For this reason also we are observing 9 Fridays of prayer and fasting as an act of reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for these sins. We intercede with Jesus & Mary as we plead for purification, sanctification and healing of the Bride of Christ (especially Her “little ones”). At the heart of this Novena of prayer and penance will be the Novena of Masses in Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel.
We participate in a mystery: We seek to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary who have been gravely offended by these sins against the innocent and against the holiness of God, his Church and his priesthood. At the same time we are imploring the Lord for his Divine intervention in the Church and the world.
