Detours for construction work over and under roadway
The following interstate detours are scheduled this week for construction at the I-64/I-264 Interchange:
April 29-May 1:
The outside lanes of I-264 east, also known as the I-264 east collector-distributor road (CD road), are scheduled to close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the nights of April 29, April 30 and May 1.
The mainline lanes (inside set) of I-264 east will remain open during this closure. Traffic on the CD road will be detoured to I-64 east and the Indian River Road exit. Vehicles will be directed back to I-64 west from Indian River Road and to the exit for I-264 east and Newtown Road.
Drivers will be able to access Exit 15 for Newtown Road using this detour.
Exit 284B from I-64 east will also be closed during this operation. Traffic for that exit will also be detoured to Indian River Road.
May 2:
The mainline lanes (inside set) of I-264 east are scheduled to close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the night of May 2. Traffic will be detoured to the collector-distributor road (outside set) of I-264 east.
The flyover ramp (Exit 284A) from I-64 east to I-264 east will also close at this time. That traffic will be diverted to Exit 284B.
