Dear Families, Faculty and Staff,
Thank you to everyone for your incredible input as we identify Gordon's needs and the skills and experiences a new prospective Head of School will need to move our community forward.
Right before our March break, Ben and Heather from our search firm Carney and Sandoe spent two days with our community, and held many in-person meetings, including three with parents and three with faculty and staff, as well as sessions with the leadership team and the head search steering committee. This information was all supplemented with the data people were providing through the online survey.
They took all of this input to craft both an opportunity statement about Gordon and a job description. They have been busy identifying prospective candidates from around the country.
Good news: they said the response nationally has been tremendous. Our head search steering committee has begun to have initial conversations with a larger pool of potential candidates.
The committee will be inviting a finalist pool to visit our campus, likely in late April and May. These visits will include opportunities, formal and informal, for all constituencies to connect with candidates and meet the person who will be Gordon’s next Head of School. All of this will put us on track to announce our decision before the end of the school year.
Thank you all for your participation in this process. I cannot wait to see what lies ahead for Gordon in the transition.
With gratitude,
Damian Ewens '90, Board Chair
Krystle Tadesse, Search Committee Co-Chair
Ted Trafton '94, Search Committee Co-Chair
