Water is something most of us Oregonians take for granted. We turn on the tap, and water flows freely out of the faucet. But what would happen if it did not flow so easily? What would be the economic impact if we did not address our current infrastructure needs and plan ahead for tomorrow's water demands, like our past leaders did for us?

   As our region grows, local water managers are looking ahead. Tualatin Valley Water District and the City of Hillsboro have set their sights on adding the Willamette River to help meet the water needs for the region. Concurrently, Clean Water Services and local water managers are working with our federal partners to make improvements to Scoggins Dam-our region's primary water source-to ensure we are able to meet our current and long-term needs. This is good news for the generations to come, but it also will come at a price.
