Message from the Divide Chamber of Commerce President.

Hello Divide Community,

It’s starting to warm up and we are all thawing out from a very long winter! I don’t know about you, but it has been a difficult year for families and businesses across the Divide. The Divide Chamber of Commerce is excited about 2021 and I wanted to introduce you again to our 2021 Board who is busy working diligently behind the scenes. Please take a minute to share your thoughts, tell us how you are doing and what issues and challenges you are facing. We would love to hear if there is a topic of interest or other idea for an upcoming mixer that you would like us to focus on. News and Events:

The Divide Chamber will be doing Business Spotlights in 2021 focusing each month on one of the business owners here on the Divide. We are doing interviews and videos and want to learn more about you and your business. Our first business highlight video is California Expeditions. This Georgetown mountain bike company shuttles run October through May. The video highlight will be posted on the Chamber website, Facebook and YouTube. You don’t want to miss hearing about them! If you are interested in Spotlighting your business, please reach out to us and let us know.

Our first 2021 Mixer was held on February 2 via Zoom with a presentation by Brian Ostrovsky, CEO Locable. We raffled off 2 free websites donated by Locable. Thanks again Brian! It was a great session and we thank you all of you who were able to participate!

March Zoom mixer will be on Tuesday, March 9 from 6-7 pm. Sierra Small Business Development Center will be presenting. Our Guest Speaker will be Leslie Williams. Leslie is a general business consultant assisting entrepreneurs looking to start a new business, grow or sell as well as with everything in between from structure to strategy! The Zoom Mixer topic will be “Accessing Emergency Capital during COVID-19” How to do, what to do and where to go! (lots of time for Q&A!!) Raffles for Free Gifts for all those who attend!

April Zoom Mixer will include a presentation from the Georgetown and Pilot Hill Fire Safety Councils who will be providing a lot of information on the upcoming fire season just around the corner. This is a must attend.

Future Mixers TBD: Outdoor in person mixers starting early summer, possibly in June. So be looking for upcoming announcements and E-Blasts with detail.

Leslie is a general business consultant assisting entrepreneurs looking to start a new business, grow or sell as well as with everything in between from structure to strategy. In addition to consulting, Leslie works as the Outreach Coordinator for the SBDC, expanding awareness to potential clients all over the region.
