Hope Has A Name - His Name Is Jesus
by Leo Acosta, HCS Board of Directors Treasurer
As we begin the new year, make our new year’s resolutions, and set goals for ourselves and our families, I encourage us all to hold on to hope: hope in hard times, and hope for the future.
We often use the word hope very casually: “I hope that we make it on time. I hope we have enough money for that.” But hope is much bigger than that! From the words of one of my favorite worship songs, “Hope has a name - His name is Jesus.”
Hope in Jesus is putting our whole trust in Him, knowing that He is in control of everything and knowing that He has amazing things prepared for us.
We can put our hope in God during hard times. Scripture tells us that we will go to tribulations and trials. The hope that we have is that He will guide us through those hard times and that he is perfecting us and working everything out for our good and His glory. “And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 3:5

Member Coffee Meet-Ups
January 12th in Clairemont
January 20th in Santee
These coffee dates are for the purpose of getting to know each other better, maybe meeting a new member or two who lives in your area, talk shop (or not), and just seeing how your school year is going. In order to keep the conversation personal and manageable, coffee dates will max out with six people. While these meetups are primarily designed for adults, feel free to bring your kids if you need to. Registration is required, sign up HERE.
If you have a favorite coffee shop in your neighborhood where you would like to see this meet up happen, feel free to let us know at principal@hcssd.org.
