A Time for Everything

Ecclesiastes 3

There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die

a time to plant and a time to uproot

a time to kill and a time to heal

a time to tear down and a time to build

a time to weep and a time to laugh

a time to mourn and a time to dance

As I reflect on the last few years, I marvel at how the Lord carried us through such uncertainty. Travel was stopped, fundraising was challenging with the world shut down, and I continually asked the Lord if this ministry should continue. It was a resounding “Yes.” Requests continued to pile in for training and we were able to start thinking outside the box to deliver it. He blessed our fireworks booths to help with some of the fundraising losses and donor contributions sustained us.

I'm excited to share that it is a time to build. We've welcomed two new Board members: Kelsey Anderson and Claire True. They both bring amazing gifts and talents to the Board and a fresh new perspective. We are also looking at ways to enhance training to those areas we can not travel to. We will continue to work on videos and delivery methods.

The boutique opens at 10 a.m., tea service begins at 11.

Fireworks Booth June 28-July 4

Volunteers are needed daily to help set up and tear down the booth, manage sales and transport fireworks. Come and join in on the fun! We will be located at 3320 Arden Way, Sacramento, in the Safeway parking lot.

Traveler’s Corner

Psalm 78:5-7 tells us to teach the next generation to know Him. What a joy it is! Becky Jo and Theresa ventured out to test the waters traveling internationally in a Covid world. It proved to be one of the most fruitful trips to date. We traveled to the Dominican Republic in the summer of 2022 where we partnered with Ketly and Vital with whom we have a long standing relationship dating back to 2005. Our goal at Fifty5five is equip churches with new teaching techniques and ideas to further children's understanding of the Gospel. Additionally, we want to train up leaders to continue training new teachers once we are gone. Ketly has been mentoring a young woman, Leidi, in the same way. She coordinated the whole Teacher Training (Ketly's job) allowing us to teach. She then coordinated the VBS (Theresa's job) assigning teachers to stories, worship, craft and activities as she MCd the event and ushered children to classes. We were in awe! We've never seen the mission God gave us carried out so fully.

What’s Next?

The requests have been pouring in. We are going to combine trips and travel to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic from July 14-30. The exact details and costs are currently being negotiated. If you have questions or want to Volunteer please fill out an application and notify Theresa. Space is limited.

Prayer

Would you like to open your house up for prayer once per month to host a prayer group? We'd love to have monthly prayer to bathe the ministry in. Contact Theresa if you are interested in hosting or joining the prayer group.
