This Multi-Chamber Networking Event organised by the Bandits is a great opportunity to connect with business leaders from across the Lower Mainland as well as being part of a fast-paced CEBL experience with great music, food, and tons of action!

«Inside CERN» Photo Exhibition at Science World
April 20-July 24, 2022
On April 20, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Vancouver launched the exhibition «Inside CERN» by Swiss photographer Andri Pol at Science World. The opening of the exhibition is part of the Swiss Innovation FEST and it will be on display until July 24. Alphorn Concert with Jim Hopson

The West Coast Symphony Orchestra finishes off the season with an eclectic evening of music from around the world at the Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Vancouver.

The concert begins in Ukraine, where the members pay respect to the courage of the Ukrainian people. The orchestra then flies off to the magestic woods of British Columbia for all to experience the wild and playful bluebirds. The musicians then find themselves atop a mountain in Central Europe, whirling and twirling to an unparalled, world premiere featuring the alphorn, played by composer Jim Hopson. Finally, the music coasts to the south of Albania and the trip concludes in a Romanian village at a wild wedding feast!

98th Congress of the Swiss Abroad
August, 19-21, 2022


On the occasion of the Congress of the Swiss Abroad, around 400 Swiss abroad from all over the world meet in their home country. This year, Lugano will host the participants in the 98th Congress of the Swiss Abroad from 19 to 21 August 2022. This year's congress will focus on how the unique Swiss democratic system can remain relevant to current and future national and global challenges.

Edelweiss returned to Canada

Since May 15, Edelweiss flies again directly to Vancouver. Edelweiss will fly to Vancouver on Sundays and Tuesdays, and from June also on Saturdays. Calgary in the western Canadian province of Alberta rounds off the offer to North America.

Lawsuit: Swiss Alpine herbs in Ricola cough drops provide no benefit

Ricola cough drops are pointlessly made with "Swiss Alpine Herbs," a new class action lawsuit claims. Plaintiff Lacie Davis sued Ricola USA on May 8 in Iowa federal court. She and lawyer Spencer Sheehan say the company boasts its product is made with Swiss Alpine herbs and shows 10 herbs on packaging. But the packaging also notes menthol is the active ingredient.

Participants at this year's World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos ditched ice grips for sneakers in its first spring edition. Rain coincided with a flurry of pledges from the private and public sector to tackle some of the thorniest issues of our times: the Covid pandemic, conflict in Ukraine, rising inflation and the risk of recession and, as always, the climate crisis.

Hosts for 2026 and 2027 FIS World Ski Championships Elected

The Council elected Crans Montana (SUI) as the host of the 2027 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. It will be the second time that the Swiss resort has hosted the Alpine Ski World Championships and 2027 will mark the 40-year anniversary from their first outing.

Ice Hockey World Championship - To Tampere/Riga in ’23, to Switzerland in ’26

The 2022 IIHF Annual Congress has allocated tournaments for the upcoming season including the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship that will be co-hosted by Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia. The 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will take place in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland.

Vancouver to be home to world’s tallest passive house building

Canadian developer Brivia Group has selected downtown Vancouver as the location of its newest and most sustainable project yet. CURV, a 60-storey residential development between Burrard and Thurlow Streets, will be the world’s tallest passive house building – a modern, low carbon and energy efficient building that contributes to a healthier planet, mirroring the environmental ethos of the city of Vancouver.
