Long Meadow Commons Workforce Housing Update

THE WELLS HAVE WATER! As a result of local citizens groups, including KNP, reaching out to Twin Pines Housing to seek solutions to Kearsarge area housing needs, Long Meadow Commons will include 60 units of workforce housing behind the Hannaford shopping center in New London. Twin Pines has announced that the well drilling team found water with a pair of wells that seem to have enough capacity for the project. An upcoming 72-hour test will ensure that volume and quality meet regulatory standards.

Additionally, Twin Pines has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Construction Management services, with four firms responding. They continue to work with New Hampshire Housing staff on construction financing.

WindowDressers #2

THE SECOND ANNUAL COMMUNITY BUILD of insulated custom storm window inserts is scheduled for Nov 14-20 at St. Andrews Church in New London. KNP will partner with Kearsarge Climate Action to provide 250 low-cost window inserts, keeping area homes warmer, saving heating costs and lowering CO2 emissions.

You can volunteer here to assemble frames for a 4-hour stint anytime during the build week, to be a shift supervisor, to greet, bring food, or to provide transportation. All training is provided. WindowDressers is a terrific, well-organized effort and we know you will enjoy being part of the community build process!
