Client Highlight: Chelerica Perry

This issue we highlight a special client of the Living Legacy Center. Chelerica Perry is a single mother of three boys (ages fourteen, twelve, and eight). This native Houstonian grew up with her grandparents in north Houston. Raising three boys is challenge enough for anyone, but then Chelerica started to face health struggles. A former co-worker, Sherry, connected Chelerica with a non-profit and through that organization Perry was able to get checked and learned she was dealing with stage three breast cancer. Sherry also connected Chelerica with Elizabeth Hilbun and the Living Legacy Center.

The Living Legacy Center took action to help Chelerica in a variety of ways, working with connections and resources to get Chelerica a church home, assistance with utility bills, groceries, doctor visits, and more.

Chelerica is thankful for the work of the Living Legacy Center and it's fitting that in breast cancer awareness month, we are blessed with her advice.

"Don't ignore the signs and go get a mammogram. Never take life for granted. Life may not be easy but never give up."
