From the Golf Shop
The weather forecast for this upcoming Friday is looking very good, by the looks of the tee sheet, the entire membership is coming out to play. For those playing on Friday, I would recommend some patience out there as we are extremely busy and a 3.5 hour round will likely not happen. Also, please do not come to the club without a tee time. We need to ensure that we maintain our safety protocols and coming to the club hoping to get out will make that more difficult to achieve. We are going to get some bonus golf in during November, however we will need some nicer days to help make that happen.
There are a good number of members that have Golf Shop vouchers on their member profiles and they can be used anytime throughout the winter as well. We have all in stock clothing discounted down to 40% off now and we can also special-order merchandise as well.
I talked last week about amending the local rules for the Fall to include a Leaf Rule and we have now done so. The local rules are posted in the Golf Shop and here is the additional local rule that will be in place until the end of the season:
F-14 Accumulations of Loose Impediments
Model Local Rule F-14
“During play of Sand Hills 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9 and Homestead 1, 3, 4, 9 and Still Valley 9, any ground with temporary accumulations of leaves in the general area or in a bunker is treated as ground under repair from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.
On behalf of the Golf Operations Department, I would like to thank the member groups that collected some year end tip pools for the golf staff. It was a truly kind gesture and I know the employees are all very thankful. The employees in my department had a great year and enjoyed the opportunity to work at a beautiful property, with great coworkers, and a group of members that were a pleasure to serve.
Let us hope for a change in the forecast so we can get some more golf in this year.
See you all soon,
Chris McNair
