Administrator's Corner
November 6, 2023
Happy November, Spartans!
There are some exciting things happening this week. Tomorrow we have a TJ Open House for prospective students from 6-7 p.m. If you know any families who are interested, please pass that along! There is also a PTO meeting at the same time. Our wonderful PTO parents are always looking for more parents to get involved, so please join them!
Our Theatre Department has been hard at work polishing their performances of Alice in Wonderland, which will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium.
Just a reminder, there will be no school and no newsletter during the week of November 20. After that, we only have 2 more weeks of classes before Finals Week (click here for the finals schedule).
It's hard to believe we're getting so close to the end of the semester. Buckle down and make these last several weeks count!
¡Feliz noviembre, espartanos!

Did You Know…?
(en español)
Showing gratitude can help YOUR overall well-being?
Studies have shown that feeling thankful can improve sleep, mood and immunity. Gratitude can decrease depression, anxiety, difficulties with chronic pain and risk of disease.
Remember that behavior changes biology. Positive gestures benefit you by releasing oxytocin, a hormone that helps connect people. Some people call it the love hormone.
You'll also benefit the person on the other end of the gesture. After all, who doesn't like to be thanked for their efforts or just for being who they are? Sharing kindness can make you healthier and happier.
Check out this quick video to learn a little more:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMd1CcGZYwU
So, what are a few quick and easy ways I can increase my gratitude practices?
- At the end of each day, make a list of 10 things you are grateful for from that day (they can be small!)
- Write a letter, email, text, make a phone call, etc. to someone you care about, and share your appreciation for that person.
- Make it a family affair- at dinner, everyone shares one thing they are grateful for. It could be interesting to hear what is highlighted for other people 🙂
