Making the Most of the Blessed Days of Dhul Hijjah
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
On no days are righteous deeds more beloved to Allah (SWT) than these 10 days (the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah)
[Bukhari]
Recite Quran. The Quran is Allah (SWT)'s speech so we should spend as much time as we can reciting the Quran and reaping the reward.
Increase in nawafil prayers. Offering salat is one of the best deeds that one can perform for the sake of Allah.
Do istighfaar. One of the most important things we should do during these blessed days is to sincerely ask Allah for forgiveness and to purify our hearts. We should also mend broken ties with our loved ones.
Fast. It is mustahhab (desirable) to fast during the first 9 days of Dhul Hijjah, especially on the day of Arafah.
Give charity.Giving sadaqah is one of the best acts of worship one can offer, especially sadaqah jariah (a continuous charity).
Udhiya. Eid-ul-Adha is also known as the Feast of Sacrifice. On this day, we should perform the ritual of a symbolic sacrifice of an animal to commemorate Ibrahim (AS)'s sacrifice of his son, and distribute the meat to the poor.
Do dhikr. We should do as much dhikr as we can, especially Takbir, Tahlil, Tasbih, Tahmid, and Talbiyah.
