Leadership Team Updates

Dear St. Alphonsus Families,

Hello! It's been awhile since we've been in your inboxes! We are all happy to be back at school after a nice & relaxing spring break. This spring & summer weather sure goes a long way in improving everyone's mood, as well. We only have a few short weeks to finish off the year strong, and a lot going on between now and June 5!

First, our Annual Fund Appeal drive kicks off this week. Did you know that your tuition payments only cover the partial cost of educating a St. Alphonsus Catholic School student? The Annual Fund is one of the ways we help make up the gap. The fund appeal is sent to all St. Alphonsus Parishioners, many of whom enjoy supporting the school in this way. We would love it if your family would consider a donation to the annual fund, either one time or recurring throughout the year. You can learn more in our Annual Fund letter, posted below, or click on the link here.

We also have some other "fun" fundraisers happening in April! Home & School is running a special fundraiser with Bear Paw Adventure Park, so if you are looking to plan some fun summer activities, consider purchasing your passes through our link. You can find details on that below.

In addition, this week our students will kick off Jump Rope For Heart! for the American Heart Association with Mr. Gutche! Many of you may fondly remember doing this as a kid, and now our students have the opportunity to jump their hearts out too. We will be having a kick-off assembly tomorrow morning. Some information was sent home last week, but you can also check out this informational PDF.

A couple of calendar notes:

  • Our next Pack the Church is coming up this weekend, and with the launch of the Annual Fund, we would love to have lots of St. Alphonsus families present in church. Wear your St. Alphonsus gear and join us at the 9:00am mass on Sunday, April 21. We hope to see you there!

  • The last day of school for 8th Grade will be Wednesday, May 29. We will honor them with a graduation mass during our regularly scheduled school mass that morning, and then they will be dismissed from school. This is a long-standing tradition that the 8th graders always look forward to, and we are happy to continue that tradition this year!

We hope you all get a chance to enjoy this weather before it takes another turn. Spring in Wisconsin is a lot like teaching--you have to be flexible and take it as it comes!

Have a fantastic week!

Best regards,

Ms. Parey, Principal

Mrs. Schermetzler & Mrs. Bruhn, Leadership Team

Calling all St. Alphonsus Alumni!

Do you have an alumni student in your home? Are you an alum yourself, or maybe you've heard some great things our alumni are up to? Please share them with us! We would love to share more alumni news in upcoming newsletters and on our social media. You can email items to Mrs. Schermetzler. Thank you!

Parish Auction Updates

Today is the Last Day for Early Bird Pricing for the Parish Auction!

On May 10, 2024, we will Roll Out the Red Carpet for the 23rd annual St. Alphonsus Parish benefit auction, and we invite you to join us!

The auction is the only parish fundraiser that benefits all of St. Alphonsus’ ministries, including our school, Christian formation programs, adult education, community outreach (food pantry, community meal programs, giving tree, etc.), support groups and more.

It is sure to be a great evening, so please consider joining us! It is such a fun night out with other parents. If you've wanted to get know other parents & socialize more, the auction is the perfect opportunity for you to do so! Click here to register.

We also need student volunteers to serve at the event!

This counts as service hours for the kids, saves St. Al’s the money we’d otherwise have to pay for adult waitstaff, and is a lot of fun!

Students should arrive at 4:30 and will be done between 9:30 and 10:00. Students will assist with table and other set up. They will serve appetizers to guests during cocktail hour. After that, they will work in the dining room, clearing salad plates, serving entrees, bringing coffee carafes to the tables and clearing plates, glasses, silverware, etc. at the end of the meal.

We will feed students dinner shortly after arrival. Students should wear a plain, white shirt or blouse and black pants or skirt with comfortable, closed toe shoes.

Students in grades 4-8 are eligible to serve. High schoolers are also welcome. Sign up here!

Do you have items for the newsletter? To submit them or for questions and submission guidelines, please contact Amy Schermetzler.

Please note that submissions are due by 12:00pm Fridays.
