CapMetro to offer free rides on Election Day
Round Rock voters can enjoy a free ride to the polls during the upcoming election. Free bus rides will be offered Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3 on all Round Rock routes in conjunction with CapMetro‘s “Ride to Vote” initiative. Round Rock’s paratransit service will also be included in the free ride promotion.

Round Rock Police win statewide award
During the 2020 Virtual Texas Municipal League (TML) Annual Conference and Exhibition, the City of Round Rock received a 2020 Municipal Excellence Award in public safety for cities over 25,000 in population. The award recognized the Police Department for its Back to School Celebration. 

Library hosts pumpkin decorating contest
The Round Rock Public Library is hosting a Family Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest from Oct. 23-29. Families are invited to decorate a pumpkin (or gourd) as a book character or with a literary theme and drop it off at the Round Rock Public Library children’s desk for display. The top three entries will receive a Barnes and Noble gift card!

Three Round Rock City Council positions and seven amendments to the City's Charter are on the ballot for the Nov. 3 elections.

Hike for Hunger Food Drive

The Round Rock Police Department will once again team up with the U.S. Army to sponsor the 2020 Hike for Hunger Food Drive benefiting the Round Rock Area Serving Center. Participants will hike 2 miles from the U.S. Army Round Rock Recruiting Center to the Round Rock Area Serving Center carrying rucksacks filled with food. The public is encouraged to join the socially-distant hike alongside the men and women of the Police Department and U.S. Army.
