Election Day for City Council places is May 7
Saturday, May 7, is Election Day for the Round Rock City Council. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Incumbent Rene Flores and Caitlin Leggett are running for Councilmember Place 2, and Hilda Montgomery is running unopposed for Councilmember Place 6. 

Business competition winners announced
Two local entrepreneurs won a combined $13,500 in prizes following the Round Rock Public Library's Biz.ability Business Plan competition. Katie Kehlenbach, owner of Addlerlock, and Mandy Kelly, owner of Liberty Dog RRTX, received first and second place, respectively.

City's top bond rating results in lower interest
S&P Global rated all of the City of Round Rock’s most recent debt issuances with an AAA rating, citing the City’s “very strong” management, “strong” budgetary performance and the area’s “very strong” economy. The rating saves approximately $3 million in interest payments in the City's most recent bond issuance, based on recent comparable bond issuances with an AA rating.

Memorial Day event planned at new plaza
The Round Rock Veteran’s Coalition and City of Round Rock invite the community to a Memorial Day Ceremony taking place May 30 at the new Yonders Point Plaza, which is under construction on the north side of Old Settlers Park.

The City's free Music on Main series is back! Bring a lawn chair, blanket and the family to Prete Plaza in Downtown Round Rock from 7-9 p.m. every Wednesday. There will be face painting, balloon artists and more!

Fill the Boot fundraiser
May 10-12
8-10 a.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m.
East Palm Valley and Mays Street; A.W. Grimes Boulevard and Gattis School Road

Round Rock firefighters will be posted with boots in hand as they kick off the annual Fill the Boot program to raise critical funds to help transform the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases.

Celebrate black history with performances by acclaimed gospel group The Levites and Round Rock ISD’s CD Fulkes Middle School Choir. The guest speaker is the Rev. Stephanie Wilkins of St. John's Downtown in Houston.

Do you know the rich history of the Chisholm Trail in Round Rock? Attendees are invited to bring a brown bag lunch and learn more about Round Rock's history with Phebe Davol and Frank Darr. Several other events will take place in May to celebrate Historic Preservation Month.

Shred for a Paws Cause is back at a new location! A donation for shelter animals allows you to securely destroy your documents and hard drives. All donations benefit the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter! CDs, legal and financial documents, hard drives and more will be securely destroyed in exchange for cat and dog toys, monetary donations and other needed items listed at the link below.
