"Faith That Feeds"
We believe that faith should feed and nurture our spirits.
We believe also that faith should lead us to feed people
in the many different ways they hunger,
both physically and spiritually.

Happy Mother's Day!

To all of the mothers and mother-figures in our lives.

Hybrid Sunday Worship

The Seventh Sunday of Easter

May 12, 2024

The gospel for Easter’s seventh Sunday is always taken from the long prayer Jesus prays for his followers in John’s gospel on the night before his death, and always includes Jesus’ desire that his followers will be one as he and the Father are one. This oneness is not mere doctrinal agreement or institutional unity, but mutual abiding, interpenetrating life, mutual love, and joy. This oneness is the work of the Spirit whom we have received but also await. Come, Holy Spirit!

Feeding Our Faith – Sundays 9 am – 10 am

Gatherings include viewing short videos and lively discussions. You can participate either in-person or via Zoom.

Through May 12: Continuing Contemplative Vision Conference: Awakening to Beauty, Truth, and Goodness. We’ll watch and discuss videos from a conference put on by Contemplative Outreach in 2007 featuring Father Richard Rohr and Father Thomas Keating, two renowned teachers of contemplative spirituality. Richard Rohr is a prolific author and speaker who founded the Center for Action and Contemplation in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Thomas Keating, who died in 2018, was a Trappist monk known as one of the principal developers of Centering Prayer, a contemporary method of contemplative prayer. Contemplation is the well from which all our action in doing justice flows. It keeps the fire of God’s love burning and inhibits our burning out.

Click to Join Midweek Spiritual Growth on Zoom

Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Noon

On this day we'll have a special session of the Midweek Adult Spiritual Growth where we'll join the webinar "Resilience and Revolution: The Role of Protest and Rebellion in Creating Social Change." The uncanny coincidence of the events on US college campus happening recently and the scheduling of this webinar makes it a must-see.

From the ELCA Wittenberg Center....

2024 marks the 500th anniversary of the start of the Deutscher Bauernkrieg, also known as the "German Peasant's War" or "Uprise of the Common Person." In this webinar, we will examine the role of protest and rebellion in creating social change. We will hear presentations from the Rev. Danielle Dokman and the Rev. Dr. Anthony Bateza, as well as have a time of questions and answers. The webinar will be moderated by the ELCA Wittenberg Center Coordinator, the Rev. Bridget Gautieri (she/her).

Special Notice - Parking in the Church Lot on Tuesday, May 14, 2024; 8 am - 5 pm

Please be aware that on this Tuesday, May 14th from 8 am to 5 pm, six cars from our neighbors at the 1421 Sherman Ave. condo will park in our lot on the North Side while their garage is being power-washed. There's a possibility that along with our parking lot tenants, the church lot will be completely full. The power wash probably won't last all day and the condo residents will move their cars back into their own garage as soon as they know the power wash is done. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
