Children's Area Temporary Closure

August 25-September 3

Our children’s room will be closed for a makeover! We received a generous donation to install new, more flexible shelving. While we are excited about this upgrade, it will temporarily impact access to the children’s collection and space.

-What dates will the children’s area be unavailable?

The children’s area, including the children’s playroom, will be closed to the public for a week beginning Sunday, August 25. We’ll be back in business on Tuesday, September 3 with our brand-new children’s room shelves!

-Can I return children’s items or should I keep them?

Please keep children’s items you have checked out until the week of September 3rd. Remember, we don't charge fines on overdue items. Howe circulation staff can extend due dates for you, just e-mail circulation@thehowe.org or call 603-643-4120.

-Can I place a hold on children’s items?

Beginning Sunday, August 25, you will not be able to place new holds on children’s items. You’ll be able to place holds again beginning Tuesday, September 3

-What if I need children’s items?

  • The children’s collection will be available to you through August 24, so please come in and stock up on children’s items.
  • You can borrow items from the Etna Library’s children’s collection.
  • Access Howe’s 24/7 library via Hoopla, Kanopy, and Libby for ebooks, audiobooks, TV shows, and movies. All available for free with your Howe Library card! (If you need assistance accessing our digital library, our reference librarians are here to help.)

A special thanks to The Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation for providing us with this exciting opportunity to upgrade and improve our children’s shelving.
