New Interactive Virtual Group Exercise Classes
Announcing over four dozen interactive virtual exercise classes via Zoom with your favorite Rye Y instructors! Our all-access class pass is free to active members. We are also offering two interactive classes for seniors, open and free to the community.  Click here to view the May schedule, which starts May 2. 
No need to register for individual classes - you can attend all classes on the schedule with a pass.

We are introducing several classes for youth and families, including Baby & Me, Gymnastics, Arts & Crafts, STEAM, Zumba and Teen Conditioning.  Click here to view the schedule. The classes are free for active members.  Register individually for each class.

 Highlights

Camp Update
We are currently awaiting a decision from the Westchester County Department of Health about whether camps will be allowed to operate this summer. In the meantime, we are planning for camp to run and are developing protocols to keep your child(ren) safe, including social distancing, smaller groups and increased cleaning protocols. Stay tuned for additional updates regarding summer camp.   

May Events

May is National Water Safety Month
May is National Water Safety Month and we want to ensure that every member of your family is water safe! During the month of May, we will bring you safety videos, resource materials and offer an open Zoom meeting on May 20.
Check out Rye Y at Home YouTube Channel for upcoming videos.  More information to follow regarding water safety. Together we can save lives! 
  


Virtual Rye Derby
Register  to  run the October 4th Rye Derby (5M, 5K or 1 miles) and you are automatically registered for the Virtual Run!  (If you are currently registered for the Rye Derby, no need to do anything but RUN and enter your time!)  Run anytime between April 26 and May 10.  After your run, go to the registration page, click on virtual run results and enter your time and photos (optional). Winners will be announced May 11. 
 

Senior Health & Fitness Day
We are planning virtual events for Senior Health & Fitness Day later this month. Stay tuned!

Social Responsibility

Togetherhood
Open Door Family Medical Centers gives expectant mothers and their families the resources needed to give their babies a healthy and safe start in life. Knit or crochet an infant cap or booties for Open Door's "Baby Boxes" and leave your donation in the collection bin at the Rye Y's main entrance Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm. Make a Thank You Card
Make a thank-you card for essential hospital workers and drop it off under the awning at the Rye Y! (8:30am-4:00pm - weekdays) The bins will be available until May 15. Thank you!

Giving Tuesday
The Rye Y has joined with 36 other YMCAs across New York State for "#GivingTuesdayNow,"  a new global day of unity in response to the unprecedented need caused by the pandemic. This Tuesday, May 5, please consider a donation to the Rye Y so we can continue to serve those who need us most. Thanks to your support, we're "Open for Good."
