Osprey Week 2020 options have been released
here and students received an email today asking them to indicate their top five choices.
Students must complete the online form by Monday, and placements will be made public next Friday. The first Osprey Week group meetings are on December 4 during advisory period. We offer scholarships for Osprey Week, and applications will become available next week. Students hoping to participate in the Backcountry Skiing Osprey Week can also apply for scholarship specifically for that trip through the

Got extra Halloween candy at home? Bring it in on Monday and we will gladly sell it to raise money for the Osprey Week scholarship fund!
AHS Student Council's
Ospreys on Ice event is
tonight from 7:30 to 9:00 at Chapman Hill. Those with an AHS Student ID get $6 admission, which includes the cost of skate rentals. Arrive early or bring your own skates as we ran out last year! Those in costume will receive a second ticket for the prize drawing for gift cards to local businesses.
Our annual
Desert Sun Coffee Holiday Fundraiser kicked off this week and runs
through Thursday November 14. All AHS students have been given envelopes and order forms, and
we are challenging each student to sell at least 10 bags of coffee, which would raise over $12,000 for our school! Many thanks to
Desert Sun Coffee Roasters--based right here in Durango and roasting organic, fair-trade coffee--for their generous support. Want to learn more about Desert Sun and sample their coffee? Join us for the
Osprey Parent Coffee next Friday morning, 8:30-9:15 in Ashley's classroom.
Next Friday is also our next
Ospreys Dining Out Fundraiser at Steamworks. Stop by Steamworks any time between 11:00am and 11:00pm on Friday to enjoy a yummy meal and Steamworks will donate a portion of your check to our school. Many thanks to Osprey parent and Steamworks co-founder and CEO Kris Oyler for his ongoing generosity in supporting AHS.
Student Council is sponsoring the
AHS Fall Blood Drive on
Tuesday, November 19 from 11:00 to 4:00, with a goal of collecting 30 units to save lives in our community. Donors must be at least 16 years old and meet heigh/weight requirements. Those under 18 must complete a
Parent/Guardian Consent Form. Historically, AHS has donated more blood per capita than other area schools and we look forward to continuing to make a meaningful difference in lives this year. Students, parents, staff and community members are all welcome to participate.
Sign up online here to reserve your spot.
Enjoy the weekend and thanks for all you do to help the Ospreys soar!
