News from the Middlesex Chamber - March 2023

Member Spotlight: Crowne Plaza Edison

Are you looking for a great venue to host your next meeting or event? Meet with confidence at the newly-renovated Crowne Plaza Edison, featuring a brand new lobby and front desk, modernized event space and spacious sleeping rooms.

“A highlight from the renovation is the updated lobby which is now an open concept featuring different areas to work or socialize. There is seating by the fireplace, a working station and a bar,” said Debbie Austad, Regional Director of Sales. “It’s a total change from the previous lobby; it’s really become a big draw.”

The renovation started in early 2020. After delays in construction because of the pandemic, the Crowne Plaza on Lincoln Highway was finally able to host its grand re-opening in early March.

The more than 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting space is perfect for a wide variety of social and corporate events, with the largest room capacity at 250 guests. There are also 169 sleeping rooms, three of them being suites.

“Our event spaces are perfect for everything from a corporate retreat to a birthday party or wedding,” Austad added. “The large windows in the ballrooms provide the perfect amount of natural light for any occasion.”

Christie’s Bar & Grill, the onsite restaurant, has a new, modern feel and is open daily for breakfast, dinner and dessert. This all-American grill features a full bar and tremendous happy hour specials every day between 4-7 p.m., with food and beverages combos.

The restaurant’s namesake honors the historical significance of nearby Christie Street, which became the first street in the world to be lit by electric lights, thanks to famed local Thomas Edison.

The Crowne Plaza Edison, an IHG hotel, is an active member of the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce and has been the host for past chamber events, such as the annual Emerging Leaders’ Summit.

“Membership with the MCRCC is a great way to find out who is in your area, what they do and who needs help,” Austad said. “The monthly breakfast and evening networking events create a great way to connect with your community.”
