Member Spotlight: Overmyer Insurance Agency

When Adam Overmyer opened his Cranford-based agency more than two years ago, he made it a priority to provide a personal experience for each client.

From buying a new home to preparing for a natural disaster, dealing with insurance is often complex. As an independent provider, Overmyer Insurance Agency (OIA) can be there every step of the way to help make sense of your coverage.

“Navigating through all of the steps and details is one of the most challenging parts for clients and the agency offers a different experience than using an online company,” Adam said. “What sets us apart is that agents, not bots, are at the heart of the agency.”

OIA specializes in auto, home, umbrella, business, and commercial insurance coverage in the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania regions. Adam has more than 20 years of industry experience and believes in prepping for the unexpected, especially when Tropical Storm Ida hit the New Jersey area on Sept. 1, 2021, just months after OIA’s grand opening.

“We helped a lot of clients rebuild after Ida and we prioritize being prepared for anything that disrupts normal life,” he said. “All you need to do is call me and I will handle it. It’s that easy.”

OIA also prioritizes regular outreach to current clients for mid-term and renewal reviews to assess coverage needs.

“It’s important to review and go over your coverage on a regular basis to see if there’s a need to revise or make coverage changes your policy,” Adam said. “If you have to report a claim, would like an insurance policy quote, or simply have a question, we are here for you.”

Overmyer has been an integral part of the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce (MCRCC). As a part of the Board of Directors, he helps to make the chamber’s annual Largest Networking Party (LNP) - Central Jersey’s premiere business and networking expo - such a success year after year.

“We thank Adam for being an important part of our LNP committee and an active member of our board,” said Lina Llona, MCRCC President. “We are grateful for your dedication to the Chamber and willingness to help other members.”

Adam added that his first priority after opening OIA was to get heavily involved with the MCRCC.

“The Middlesex Chamber is an incredible organization that offers a great way to meet people from so many different industries. Even if you don’t do business with every person you meet, you might be able to refer them or vice versa,” he said.
