Here are some recent updates from ICCIE, the official education program of the captive insurance industry.

All Captive Conference Ticket Raffle

*************

In case you missed our recent standalone announcements, ICCIE has launched the All Captive Conference Ticket raffle – a one-time celebration of the industry’s education program as ICCIE begins its 20th year in August of 2023. Thanks to the generosity of the industry’s conferences, the raffle winner will get a free conference admission (fully transferable, though not able to be resold, in whole or in part) to all the participating captive conferences. For the list of conferences and full contest details, please go to the following page with all the relevant information:   https://conta.cc/3G1Es1G

TWO new ICCIE offerings:

“Taxes and Captives” and “Captive Owners Bootcamp”

Earlier this year we teased the creation of two new ICCIE offerings – we are now pleased to announce the topics of the forthcoming courses: a course completely dedicated to captive insurance taxation and a special downloadable course specifically designed for captive owners and board members.

The Taxes and Captives course will be the first captive insurance course focusing completely on captive insurance taxation. Because the topic is so rich and of interest to all captive entities, this is certainly a topic deserving of its own course. A group of high-level experts in captive taxation has created and will be presenting this course, and we look forward to its initial incarnation in 2023.

The second course, Captive Owners Bootcamp, will be a downloadable series of a small number of handful of modules – at a deeply-discounted combined price – with specific modules in formation and feasibility studies, accounting and financial aspects of captives, governance, underwriting and claims, and investments. The release date has not yet been set for the Captives Owners Bootcamp – we will announce details soon.

Jeff Kehler Memorial Scholarship Announced

At the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (SCCIA) annual conference in September ICCIE was delighted to present the Jeff Kehler Memorial Scholarship to Ryan Martin. The scholarship -- in honor of Kehler, a former regulator and longtime supporter of the captive industry and education – is supported by Kathryn Marsh and Somers Risk Consulting. Congratulations, Ryan!

And in case you missed it…

CICA Continues as Lead ICCIE Supporter

The CICA Board and President Dan Towle continued CICA’s annual $10,000 contribution, continuing its position as ICCIE’s biggest individual contributor. ICCIE and CICA have had a great partnership for many years, and this continued substantial support is very significant for the industry’s education program. Tremendous thanks to Dan and the whole CICA Board!
