Learn | Pray | Act...for all Creation

Hello Lella,

The Commission on the Integrity of Creation is starting a monthly newsletter. You are receiving this inaugural mailing because you indicated an interest in creation care at either the 2023 or 2024 Diocesan Convention, or you shared your interest with a commission member. If you do not wish to receive future newsletters, please "unsubscribe" below, but we hope you will stay with us on this journey!

Creation Care Resource List Available

The Commission on the Integrity of Creation has prepared an extensive list of resources for parishes wishing to get on the creation care bandwagon. Click below for the complete list.

Each month we will feature one or two of these ideas, with a little more information about how to do this project with your parish.

Featured Ideas of the Month

All Saints, Mobile, Now a Plastics-Free Church

The Green Team of All Saints Episcopal Church in Mobile has submitted and the vestry has approved a new policy titled "Use of Eating and Drinking Utensils and Related Items at Gatherings in All Saints' Buildings and Property." We see this as an opportunity for action toward environmental sustainability, the most significant issue of our time. Our goal is to provide reusable (washable) utensils at all gatherings, eliminating all plastic, Styrofoam, and paper utensils. The policy applies to all meetings, meals, and gatherings at All Saints, for church members and for others using our facilities. We are seizing this opportunity to make All Saints an environmentally sustainable and ultimately plastics-free church. Spread the word! Contact the Rev. Bob Donnell about how you can do this at your church: drbobdonnell@gmail.com.

Local Food Festival

As spring turns into summer, local produce becomes abundant. Consider hosting a local food festival at your church to explore the many ways using local, in-season foods can benefit the planet. Invite members to bring their favorite dish to share with the featured food. Create a collection of recipes and suggested local food sources.
