HONORING LARGO VETERANS

Join the City of Largo in honoring those who have served with Largo's Veterans Day Ceremony on Saturday, November 11, at 11:11am in the Military Court of Honor at Largo Central Park. A welcoming keynote, live music, and award presentations are in store to celebrate our heroes.


In recognition of our veterans, the Largo Golf Course is also offering a 12.5% discount on any individual golf activity, whether with a cart or walking, beginning Friday, November 10 through Sunday, November 12. To receive this discount, individuals must present their Veteran's identification card at the time of payment. The Largo Golf Course is located at 12500 Vonn Road.


As a reminder, City facilities will be closed on Friday, November 10, in observance of Veteran's Day on November 11.

ENJOY A FREE MOVIE IN THE PARK

Gather up the family, grab your blankets and chairs, and join us for a movie on the big screen on Friday, November 10 at 6:30pm in Largo Central Park. Tonight's movie is the Barbie Movie. On-site parking and snack concessions are available. No personal alcohol is permitted. Movies will be available in closed captioning.

FIELD DAY WITH THE CITY OF LARGO

The City of Largo invites you to Field Day in the Park on Monday, November 20, from 9- 11am at Largo Central Park. This exciting event offers free games, safety training, and friendly competitions courtesy of City of Largo Team Members. LARGO HOUSING UPDATES & RESOURCES

The Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program makes homeownership affordable for eligible members of the community workforce. This program provides down payment and closing cost assistance to first-time, income-qualified homebuyers so they can purchase a primary residence in the community in which they work and serve. The Florida Hometown Heroes Loan Program also offers a competitive first mortgage interest rate and additional special benefits to those who have served and continue to serve their country.

HOMETOWN HEROES PROGRAM

The City of Largo can provide income-eligible homeowners with items such as roof and air conditioner replacement, install of wheelchair ramps, and other health, safety and energy efficiency improvements. This program can provide a 0% interest deferred mortgage for health/safety/energy efficiency home improvements. Mobile homes built after June 1994 are eligible for limited improvements as well.

The Homeless Leadership Alliance of Pinellas County is seeking volunteers for the 2024 Homeless Point-in-Time Count on January 25, 2024. Volunteers would help survey the street homeless population in the Largo area. The data collected from the PIT is submitted to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to support funding to address homelessness in Pinellas County.

BINTELLI GOLF CART OUTDOOR DISPLAY SITE PLAN APPROVED

On November 3, 2023, Largo Planning and Development Services approved small-scale review case number SPR223-024 for Bintelli Golf Carts located at 10751 Ulmerton Road. The subject property is north of Ulmerton Road and west of Seminole Boulevard. This approval allows for allocating an approximately 775 sf area in six parking spaces for the outdoor display of golf carts.

Construction of Horizon West Bay which includes Largo City Hall is underway. As of November 8, 2023, work continues on the following tasks:


  • Underground Utilities Interior/Exterior  
  • Erection of City Hall Steel
  • Concrete Floor Slabs at City Hall
  • Garage Fire Protection
  • Architectural Facades at Parking Garage
  • Electrical Work at Garage
  • City Hall Interior Walls 
  • Garage Interior Masonry Walls 


Road closures for the duration of the project include:


  • 4th Street NW, between West Bay to 1st Ave NW
  • 5th Street NW, between West Bay to 1st Ave NW
  • 1st Avenue NW, between 4th Street to 5th Street


Largo’s new mixed-use complex, Horizon West Bay, sets a vision to attract new restaurants, cafes, and retailers to Downtown Largo.
