   The Burl L.L.C.
     375 Thompson Rd.
     Lexington, KY 40508

When Seth Bertram, Jomo Thompson, and Cannon Armstrong first met with Fausto, their conversation was more about national championships and rock and roll than about business. Before the meeting was over, however, Fausto laid the groundwork for developing Cannon's and Seth's hole-in-the-wall rehearsal space into what would become one of the Bluegrass area's top rated entertainment venues. Combining Seth's business experience, Cannon's legal expertise, and Jomo's networking abilities with Fausto's knowledge of funding opportunities, an old train depot was beautifully transformed.

The Burl is a highly regarded entertainment destination in Lexington's burgeoning Distillery District. Featuring a unique space, a variety of drinks, live music ranging from nationally recognized acts to local prodigies, and "the tall good looking guy at the door", the Burl will soon celebrate its one year anniversary! To celebrate the one year anniversary, The Burl will host a HUGE party and market on July 22nd in order to give back to the many people and businesses who helped make the first year a success.

All makers, artists, and small business owners are invited to submit a vendor application. The application deadline is May 19th. Apply at the following link: http://theburlky.com/market/

Congratulations, The Burl, on your upcoming anniversary and thank you for your support of the SBDC and area small businesses!

LEXINGTON, KY. (April 14, 2017) - Eight business owners recently graduated from the Lexington Minority and Women Contractor Training Program. The 10-week program provided skills training to minority and women business owners who have at least 50 percent ownership in a contracting business.

"This year's class represents a diverse group of entrepreneurs sharing a common desire: to improve the performance and operations of their business. The participants overwhelmingly agreed the program was beneficial and will help further their businesses," said Becky Naugle, state director of the Kentucky Small Business Development Center, which is one of the program sponsors.
