What's New at VV
Dear Friends and Colleagues,

At Village Volunteers we are very excited about the many projects in the works and the progress we have made together! Grassroots collaboration with visionary leaders in support of "sustainable solutions to community challenges" is proving to be very effective. Of course, none of this is possible without people like you.

Thanks for your support,

The Sirua Aulo Academy at Namunyak Maasai Welfare began just 6 short years ago and has accomplished what no school in Narok County has done! In two successive national exams, we managed to top the charts in academic excellence among over 700 other schools. The school has also enabled all students to score above 300 and thus send them to quality high schools that will secure them placements in national colleges.

Empowering Women. Period.

What innovation...

... enables education for girls in Asia and Africa?
... reduces an invasive species that clogs waterways?
... employs women through self-owned cooperatives?
... reduces disease, infection, and mortality?
... breaks down social stigmas and empowers women?

Empowering Women. Period.

Mama Clinic Kababu

This month, Village Volunteers is excited to announce our new partner in Kenya, Mama Clinic Kababu. We are very selective about who we partner with to ensure their beliefs align with our core values. We only work with visionaries and transformational leaders who have the integrity and passion for working to solve community challenges in a sustainable way. We're really looking forward seeing what kind of impact we can make together through this new partnership! Read the featured article in the Daily Nation to understand why this young man is so impressive.

Inspiration of the Month

Grace Tsini with two children at Ryvanz Mia

Before Grace Tsini was accepted into post-secondary school, she lived with Mama Regina Esime Djentuh, better known as Mama Esi, where she acted as a "big sister" and role model to twenty-three children living at Ryvanz-Mia Childcare International in Ghana. Grace aspired to attend nursing school, but she struggled with the standardized test format. She did not pass the first exam, but her dedication led her to a passing score after writing the exam three different times over the course of two years. While studying for her exams, Mama Esi was involved in a car accident that left her in critical condition, leaving Grace to step in as the temporary Director of Ryvanz-Mia and take responsibility for all of the children at the orphanage. Read Grace's inspiring story to learn more about her accomplishments.
