Upcoming Service

Bridging the Gaps with SAFY

Rev. Jaimie Dingus & Austyn Woodliff (SAFY)

10:45 a.m., Sunday, July 14th, 2024

SAFY, or Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth, is an organization equipping compassionate families to be trauma informed and LGBTQ accepting foster home placements for children and teens in crisis. As a community committed to LGBTQ flourishing and care and respect for children, SAFY is an obvious partner for us. Join Rev. Jaimie and SAFY staff member Austyn Woodliff for worship, and conversation about how we could work together to support more children and families!

Choir News

The UUCH Choir is taking a break during July and August. Regular rehearsals will resume in September.

Nursery Care

Nursery care will be available during the service
from 10:30-12:15.

Little ones can be signed in and out upon arrival and departure in the RE wing.

Supporting a UU Congregation in Need

On Sunday, I shared that one of our sibling Unitarian Universalist Congregation, First Parish in Kingston, MA, had been vandalized. A person broke in, caused massive property damage and burned the Pride Flags and Black Lives Matter flags, sending a message of hate. If you would like to send First Parish a message of love and support, consider donating to their Faithify Campaign here.

LATE: A Love Story

We hope you can join us this Saturday, July 13th, for a special event hosted at UUCH.

The Facebook Event can be found here.

Special Music This Sunday

This week we welcome Lisa Wiggins, violinist, to our service. Lisa plays in the Huntsville and Mobile Symphonies, teaches in the Huntsville and Scottsboro area, and also plays in the Blossomwood String Quartet, an ensemble that performs frequently in Huntsville for special events including weddings, receptions, and choir concerts.

Poverty, by America: A Book Discussion

Little Food Pantry

Signups for the LFP have slowed to a trickle unless you are filling it without signing up in the signup genius. It’s hard to know. Our LFP is a much needed service to the neighborhood. Fill it with nutritious foods. Folks rarely take garbanzo beans or lentils (even though they are nutritious). Let’s try to keep the pantry going! Please, if you are able to fill it up, please note your name in the Genius. Also, you can bring non perishables to church, as there are baskets. A big thank you to all who do contribute!
