CYRE News
All Ages
This week our service will be enjoyed together as a multigenerational gathering as we transition to Generosity, our theme for November. For our youngest children, the nursery will be operating as usual. Rev Jaimie will provide a sermon inspired by the latest Barbie movie to remind us that we are all "Kenough"! If you feel comfortable, she is requesting that we all wear pink! Also, this is the first Sunday of the month so make sure to hang around for our monthly Potluck.
General CYRE Announcements

UUCH ABCs Annual Auction Time!
It's as easy as ABC! It’s ABC Auction Party time– Nov 11! Let’s raise funds for our church and have fun at the same time!
- First: Donate an item, service or party offering to the auction by November 4 using our page in Auctria. If you have difficulty with the site, feel free to email the donation information to service.auction@uuch.org. Please include contact information, description, value, starting bid and a photo. UUCH link for Auctria: https://auctria.events/uuch
- Bring your donation item to the church starting Sunday November 5 and ending Saturday November 11 at 10:00 a.m.
-
Next: Seek donations from your favorite local business. Just show them our letter available here. Hard copy will also be available at the church.
-
Third step: Party prep! Bring hearty snacks to share. Help with setting up or tearing down. Many hands make light work. If you are willing to assist please sign up here or email service.auction@uuch.org
- Final step: Bidding! This will be a live auction event. Bidding must be bid in-person, by proxy, or by Zoom chat during the event. Pre-event bidding is available for "Silent" auction items up until the day before the event. Raffle tickets may also be purchased online before the event. However, final bids for all items will be taken by the auction team at the event. Those who wish to bid but cannot attend in person are encouraged to use a proxy bidder or attend via Zoom.
In summary, join us on Nov 11 at 5:30 p.m. at UUCH for a lively evening of music, food, fellowship and friendly bidding to raise money for our beloved community.

ARE YOU READY TO BECOME A MEMBER?
If you’ve been attending UUCH long enough to know that this church community feels like your spiritual home, you may be ready to take the next step and become a member of this congregation.
Rev. Jaimie soon plans to welcome new members as they “sign the book” and officially join our church. If you are ready to become a member or would like to find out more about the process, please contact Pam Korb at membership@uuch.org.
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MEMBERSHIP
Because we are a democratic community, members are collectively vested with responsibility for the congregation. Members may vote at all congregational meetings, be elected to the governing Board, be appointed as committee chairs, and participate in all activities of the congregation.
Because we are a covenanted congregation, members have certain responsibilities to the congregation and to each other. These responsibilities are best fulfilled by:
- Regular attendance at worship
- Voting at congregational meetings
- Making financial contributions
- Contributing time and talent
- Spiritual growth and development

SoulCollage Class
This Sunday, November 5 from 1-3 will be the last class in this series. New as well as returning participants are welcome!
Led by certified facilitator Sally Locklear, SoulCollage© is an expressive arts practice done individually or in community. It is an easy, enjoyable, intuitive collage process for self-discovery and community. Participants make their own decks of collaged cards for their personal use from images. Founded by Seena B Frost, the SoulCollage© method helps people discover their unique inner/outer guides and challengers and strengthen their intuition and creativity. You can learn more about SoulCollage© on their official website soulcollage.com
All materials will be provided, but feel free to supplement by gathering images from magazines, online photo sharing website or bring photos of loved ones. If you interested, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. Sign-up sheets are in the fellowship hall or contact Sally Locklear at sallylocklear@mac.com or call 512-657-6169.

Share the Plate with Village of Promise
During the fourth quarter of 2024, UUCH will be sharing our plate proceeds with Village of Promise. All plate proceeds received from the Thursday before the first Sunday through the Saturday after the first Sunday will be split with Village of Promise. In November, this includes plate donations received from November 2nd through the 11th.
Village of Promise empowers families to advance out of poverty using a multigenerational approach, promising support through a continuum of services and inspiring them to achieve their goals and contribute to their community. Village of Promise is a Family Advancement Center. Together, with their community partners and investors, they provide educational programs, sustainable tools, and opportunities that empower children and their families to advance out of poverty.
Each Village of Promise family develops an “individualized family advancement plan” that addresses four key areas of their lives: Education, Social and Emotional Growth, Physical Health & Wellness, and Professional Development. Village of Promise provides programs and a support system that empowers each family as they strive to reach their goals, advance out of poverty, and give back to the Huntsville community. Village of Promise is committed to supporting families who want to move forward in their lives.
Please consider giving generously to this important local organization.

Alabama Hispanic Association Dinner and Christmas Party
The 9th annual Alabama Hispanic Association dinner and Christmas party is scheduled for December 16th
This is an all-church, all-committee event. Many hands make happy people!
As in the past years, we are doing a separate plate collection each Sunday in November and maybe into December, to cover the cost of presents for the teens.
A sign-up sheet in the fellowship hall and a newsletter Sign-up Genius will be posted for the event. We will need help with food for the dinner, setup, clean up, decorating, and working the dinner, which is fun and rewarding. Please help as you can.
