New Sept 2010
PRAYER
This week, we continue to hear of the worsening crisis of the Ebola outbreak in the countries of West Africa.

Loving God, your heart overflows with compassion for your whole creation. Pour out your Spirit on all persons living with illness for which we have no cure, as well as their families and loved ones. Help them to know that you claim them as your own, deliver them from fear and pain, and send your archangel Raphael to minister to their needs; for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen. -- Enriching Our Worship 2, p. 65

CHRISTIAN FORMATION FOR ALL AGES RESUMES

Christian formation for all ages resumes this Sunday, and now all classes, including Godly Play for ages 3 - 2nd grade, meet at 11:30 am. This year the Godly Play room has moved to the second floor of the education wing. There will no longer be Godly Play Eucharists on the first Sunday of the month.

If you have not done so already, please fill out a registration form for each of your children age 3 through high school. Registration forms are located on the communication tables in Goodwin Hall and in the Narthex. Return completed registration forms to Lynda Curtis (up to Grade 6) or April Alford-Harkey (grades 7-12). Click here for more information about formation for children and youth.

Click here for information about adult Christian formation, which also occurs at 11:30 am.

VOICE DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 11

BOOK GROUP: AMISH GRACE

Trinity's Book Group will begin its new season in September with a discussion of Amish Grace:  How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy, written jointly by Kraybill, Nolt and Weaver-Zercher.  In 2006, in a horrific incident, a man executed 10 girls in an Amish schoolhouse in Nickel Mines, PA.  What shocked the media was the immediate and genuine acts of forgiveness by the Amish. The authors tell the story and the reader learns a great deal about the Amish and how their Christian faith guided their response.

The meeting, starting with dessert, will be on Friday, September 26, from 7 - 9 pm. It'll be hosted by Mark and Linda MacGougan at their West Hartford home. All Trinity parishioners are welcome to be part of Book Group, whether for one session or regularly.

DRUMMING CIRCLE IS BACK

After taking a summer break the Trinity Drumming Circle has resumed meeting on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm. If you are interested in learning about African drumming or joining the Drumming circle, give it a try.

New members are always welcome. Questions? Call Bert Landman at 860-527-8133 ext. 205.
