The 2023 Oldtime Baseball Game is being played as a fundraiser for The Boston Home in recognition of people with multiple sclerosis. Aidan Freeburg, a long-time participant in the Oldtime Baseball Game who was diagnosed with MS at age 19, has stepped forward to lead this year’s effort.

Come see a great game of baseball played by outstanding college players wearing authentic, historic team uniforms, with a special appearance by Red Sox Hall of Famer Fred Lynn! The game is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend at no cost. There will be programs, raffle tickets and silent auction items for sale to benefit The Boston Home. We recommend bringing lawn chairs or blankets as there is no seating at the field.

We are thrilled to announce that Wahlburgers will be at the game, providing delicious refreshments for purchase. Enjoy some ballpark burgers while you're at the game!

Tribute to Carol Lobron:

a Visionary Leader

Carol Lobron, former Executive Director of The Boston Home (TBH), died on June 17^th at age 85. In remembrance, we look back at her dedicated leadership.

Founded in 1881 as a residence for people with long-term disabilities, TBH has served a diverse population throughout its long history, including men, women and children with varied disabilities.

Executive Office of Elder Affairs Service Day Visit

Thank you to our amazing volunteers from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs who joined us for a fabulous games day! The afternoon was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and so much fun!

Residents Hit the Water!

Sara and Bonnie are both outdoors-lovers who enjoyed kayaking before they became disabled due to multiple sclerosis. This summer, they found that kayaking is still within reach thanks to Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers. Sara and Bonnie have enjoyed two outings, launching from Charlestown with expert support from the Spaulding team. We love their spirit of adventure and exploration!

Celebrating a New Accessible Garden on ADA Day

On July 26th, The Boston Home celebrated the 33rd anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act with the ribbon cutting of our new, accessible garden, designed as a beautiful, inclusive space where all can enjoy the peace and serenity of nature. Access to nature has been shown to play a powerful role in supporting both physical and mental well-being.

Landscape Construction, Wright Technology Group, and St. G ermain Electric for their outstanding work transforming an unused space into an accessible oasis.
