El Hogar, The Home of Love and Hope in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, is a community where God is lifting up “the lowly,” and “filling the hungry with good things.” It is a place where you see the miraculous transformative power of love. Since 1999 St. Timothys has been deeply invested in God’s work at El Hogar through financial support, Board Membership, and over a hundred members spending a week at El Hogar. This year our Christmas offering will once again be given to El Hogar. If you come to one of our Christmas services, please put your offering in one of the Christmas Offering envelopes. You may also give online through our Realm app. Be sure to select the Christmas Offering Fund. Click here to log into Realm. Thank you for supporting this life-changing community.”

Becoming a Member of The Episcopal Church
How does one become a member of The Episcopal Church? The answer is not obvious. Most people who start worshiping at St. Timothy’s have already been Baptized in another denomination and are therefore already members of the Church Universal. What most newcomers are longing for is a home—a community where they can deepen their love of God and their neighbors. On Wednesdays January 26 and February 2,9,16 and 23, 7:00pm—8:30, Roger and other members of St. Timothy’s will share their experience of life in The Episcopal Church. Roger will also invite participants to reflect together on what Episcopalians believe, how we read the Bible, the role of sacraments and spiritual practices in the faith journey, and how we live out our life together in community. The group will also take a brief look at the history of The Episcopal Church and the history of St. Timothy’s. For those who wish to be baptized, Confirmed, or Received, Bishop Smith will visit St. Timothy’s on Sunday, March 6, 11:00am. Please sign up in the Gathering Space or contact Roger at rogerg@sainttimothys.com if you would like to participate. All sessions will be at St. Timothy’s. Room to be determined based on the size of the group.
Belonging
Preparation for Baptism, Confirmation and Reception
On Sunday, March 6, Bishop Smith will be with us to Baptize, Confirm and Receive people into the Church. Baptism at any age is the fundamental rite of initiation into the Universal Church. Confirmation is the occasion for those baptized at an early age to make a mature affirmation of their faith. Reception is for those who have made an adult affirmation of faith in another denomination and now want to belong to The Episcopal Church.
Adult Preparation
On five Wednesdays, January 26, February 2, 9, 16 and 23, Roger and a team of current members will facilitate a five week conversation about what it means to be a member of St Timothy’s and The Episcopal Church. Participants will be encouraged to share their experience of life in the church—past and present. All meetings will be in-person at St. Timothy’s, masks required. (Room Location to be determined based on the size of the group.
Teen Preparation
On Sunday mornings 10:15—11:50, January 9—February 23, Roger and a group of confirmed teenagers will reflect on what it means to be a follower of Jesus in The Episcopal Church. All meetings in the Youth Room (across from the Parish Hall).

Adult Spiritual Formation New Book Study
|
|
The Wednesday evening book group has chosen a new selection. Please join us on Zoom on January 12, 2022 from 7:00 until 8:30 as we begin our eight-week discussion of Things Hidden: Scripture As Spirituality by Franciscan Priest, founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation and national best selling author Richard Rohr. From the introduction: "Only when the two come together, inner and outer authority, do we have true spiritual wisdom. We have too long insisted on outer authority alone, without any teaching of prayer, inner journey and maturing consciousness. The results for the world and for religion have been disastrous...I offer these reflections to again unite what should never have been separated: sacred Scripture and Christian Spirituality."
Please allow ample time for delivery.
All are welcome!
Please contact Ernie Drott at drott@fuse.net or 513-378-7649 to be part of the discussion.
