Tuesday Bible Study

Tuesdays, 9:30—11am

Room 6 (lower level) or on zoom

Beginning next Tuesday, September 10, the Bible Study will focus its attention on readings from Genesis and Exodus that are fundamental for people whose faith is grounded in the biblical story. We begin by looking at Yahweh’s deliverance of the Hebrew slaves from Egypt and their journey to the promised land. We then go back in the story to look at Creation, Noah’s Ark, the promises made to Abraham and Sarah, and the gift of the ten commandments. The readings used on Tuesday will be used in the following Sunday’s worship services.

If you have any questions, please contact Roger Greene at RogerG@SaintTimothys.com

AROUND THE PARISH

11am Choir Season

The 11 o'clock service at St. Tim's features a blend of classical, recognizable music from the Episcopal canon, as well as heartfelt performances by skilled singers and instrumentalists. Led primarily by the St. Timothy's Choir, this service strives to inspire and relate a Christ-centered message through diverse, artistically rewarding musical offerings.

The choir is thrilled to have returned for the new season!

From our Music Director Andrew: "We're looking forward to being back together and welcoming some new faces. Along with singing for the 11 am service, the choir will also be collaborating with area arts organizations to present several special events, including a Hymn Sing in conjunction with All Saints Episcopal Church (9/14) and An Evensong for Social Justice (11/10). The choir is always happy to welcome new members, and anyone interested should reach out to me or another staff member for more information. No prior experience is required!"

Practicing Compassionate Communication

Tuesdays, September 24 and October 8, 7-8:30pm

Heritage Universalist Unitarian Church

In our world today, the idea of practicing compassionate communication may seem daunting - our political leaders are not the best at providing examples of this. We also know how desperately our communities need this kind of communication. This two-part interactive workshop is designed to equip you with practical tools to navigate challenging conversations with empathy and understanding.

One of the best parts? These workshops are being led by one of St. Timothy's own - Mandie Kender! She is an experienced parent coach, therapist, and conflict and mediation coach. Mandie supports families and communities by teaching peaceful and effective communication practices.

Email Scam Warning

Unfortunately, there are multiple scam emails being sent to parishioners. The perpetrators have emails with Roger's name in them and have gone as far as taking his photo from our website. They can be convincing, but beware - they are scams. There isn't anything we can do about the impersonators except to flag the email as a fake account. If this happens to you, please report the email in your inbox.

Remember: Roger will NEVER email you asking for money or gift cards. ALL official correspondence from Roger will come from the @SaintTimothys.com address ONLY.

Be careful online - always check and double-check your links and accounts.
