The first Soarin' Hawk Auction is in the books, and it was a rousing success! Thanks to all of you, we raised ...
(drum roll)...
$4033!
That is amazing! We are so happy for the birds! Thank you!
So many people worked hard to make the auction a success. Thanks to the Auction Planning Committee: Barb Brewer, Sue Hansen, JD Price, Jeannie Smythe, Lynne Ostergren, Gigi Stewart, Bob Walton, and Diana Ward. Thanks also to Gigi Stewart for her awesome graphics. Thanks to Mike Dobbs for making the payment process hassle-free. Thanks to the many businesses and individuals that donated items for us to auction, and thanks to all the Soarin' Hawk volunteers who opened their hearts and hands and shared their talents to add to the list of items up for auction. And, of course, thanks to all of you. We hope you all had fun!

You're sitting and watching TV, when suddenly you hear a loud crash from another room. You rush into the other room and, seeing nothing, look out the window. There, on the ground, is a Cooper's Hawk, lying on his back, breathing, but otherwise not moving.
Birds of all sizes run into windows. Many die. Some live, but are injured. Others recover after a short while, and fly away. It's estimated that millions of birds die each year from window strikes. Here are some things you can do to make your windows more "visible," so birds avoid running into them.

CLIMATE CHANGE HITS BIRD FEEDERS
|
|
For millions of Americans who feed wild birds, the enjoyment they get from nourishing and observing avian visitors is well worth the cost of providing a steady food supply.
This year, though, that cost is on track to be especially high.

A VERY SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU!

Thanks to people like you, we were able to rescue, rehabilitate, and release this beautiful Snowy Owl. After a few weeks in our facility, she was released in Michigan, in order to give her a bit of help in her long migration north. Won't you make a donation, so we can help others like her? No contribution is too small!
Your donation is tax deductible.
