| Dear Supporters, December 2012
It is with gratitude and hope that we present the 2012 Annual Report. The SJSA Foundation is committed to encouraging and supporting student athletes/artists to pursue their dreams through education. Our camps and programs continue to make a significant impact in communities across the country.
This has been an eventful and historic year, and while some of us are still faced with economic challenges, we must always remember those who are less fortunate and those who take their inspiration and who learn to hope through us. Each of SJSA's scholarship recipients is a child who strives to contribute to his or her community through hard work and dedication to both academics and their unique gifts.
Although our scholarship recipients come from a range of backgrounds, all SJSA children share the same thirst to complete their education and to make a difference in their families, their communities, and beyond. In being a part of this foundation, their dreams become our dreams, and their success becomes our success.
In keeping with our commitment to serving our children, SJSA is proud to announce that we have joined forces with Be In The Know About Bullying. This organization was created to combat the epidemic of bullying that our children now face everyday. Through education, prevention, positive role models, and forty five NFL ambassadors, Be In The Know About Bullying has already begun to leave its mark in schools across the country, and its journey has only just started. SJSA looks forward to a continued partnership with Be In The Know About Bullying and we work to achieve a safer, brighter, and more secure future for our children.
Thank you for your contributions to the Sean James Student Athletes Foundation. Your generosity and continued support are creating a legacy that is changing the future for our children, and for this we are truly grateful. In the midst of the holiday season, please consider an SJSA Charity Bracelet, Philanthropy Necklace, or T-shirt. In purchasing, you will not only be giving gifts to your loved ones, but you will also be helping to give a precious gift to a deserving child. If you do not want to purchase, please consider making a donation as the gift of philanthropy is timeless.
Sincerely,
Sean L. James President Sean James Student Athletes Foundation

2012 Scholarship Recipient
Damaney (DJ) Johnson
Dad: Taquiza (Officer, Kansas City Missouri Police Department)
Mom: Tekialah (Underwriter, Exam One)
Sister: Taryn
Brother: Damari
Born: October 9, 1999 in Jackson, MS (Moved to KC at 3 months old)
School: 7th grader at KIPP Endeavor Academy in KC, MO
DJ is a gifted young athlete with a strong faith and love of family. Through his childhood, DJ's parents provided a stable foundation on which he and his siblings could develop and grow. DJ has already had an opportunity to utilize his God given abilities to create opportunities for himself both on and off the field. By becoming an SJSA scholarship recipient, he has been afforded an experience that will create more opportunities, as well as a sense accountability and responsibility. With the continued support of his parents and SJSA, DJ will continue to work hard in the classroom to prepare himself for his future, while cultivating a deeper understanding of the connection between the opportunities that will present themselves to him in the future and the attitude and effort with which he approaches them. Camp: Football University (FBU), Little Rock, Arkansas "From the creators of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl comes a one-of-a-kind football training experience exclusively for the nation's most elite youth and high school players. Born out of the appreciation that the most successful and skilled football players have mastered great technique, and that for many younger players this level of coaching is simply not available, the Football University (FBU) experience focuses on intense position-specific technique training taught by our expert faculty of former and current NFL coaches who have a passion for sharing this experience with young athletes."
