An Honor to Serve

What a year it has been! Just 12 short months ago I had the honor of being sworn in as the 59th president of the Florida Supervisors of Elections (FSE). Since then, I have had the pleasure of serving some of the brightest and most dedicated election officials in the country.

During my tenure, there were many discussions, debates and, on occasion, a few disagreements. But we never lost sight of our goal: to keep Florida the gold standard in elections administration.

I believe we have done that. Working with Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd, his staff and other state and federal partners, we have continued to implement policies, procedures and security measures that help all 67 supervisors of elections administer efficient, secure and accurate elections.

My hope is that the work we have done in the last year will position all of us for success as we head into the Primary and General elections in August and November. I know the FSE is in good hands with its new president, the Honorable Travis Hart. Just as I did, Supervisor Hart will have the support of the entire organization as he leads us through an exciting and challenging year.

Know Before You Go

We recently revised 12 precincts and added several new polling locations to ensure an efficient election day experience for voters in Sarasota County. For some, this means that your precinct and/or polling location may have changed. If it did, we mailed you a new voter information card earlier this year notifying you of this change.

Still, it’s a good idea to know your Precinct number and polling location before heading out to vote on election day. To doublecheck your information, take a look at your voter information card or visit SarasotaVotes.gov to Find My Precinct.
