Rizzetta & Co.'s Adaptation Highlighted in Newspaper Feature
|
Like many companies related to the real estate industry, Rizzetta & Company had to adapt its business to succeed through Florida's real estate crash.
Some of the steps might have seemed counterintuitive, like putting more employees in the field. But that paid off for Rizzetta with deeper customer relationships.
Meanwhile, the company diversified its offerings, notably starting an amenity services division to help communities manage such amenities as clubhouses and pools, whether they are Rizzetta clients already or not.
For more details, see the feature in the Gulf Coast Business Review.

Wellness Programs Help Residents Stay Healthy |
Pizza parties at the clubhouse are fun, but communities providing wellness programs on-site are giving residents opportunities to get - and stay - healthy. "It's important to incorporate wellness into a community's lifestyle programming," said Kelly Evans, operations manager of Rizzetta & Company's amenity services. "Residents appreciate communities that make it convenient for them to take better care of themselves." For example, The Groves Golf and Country Club, a 55-and-over community in Land O' Lakes, Florida, put together a series of free monthly wellness programs for residents, hosted in the community. Programs included:
- Flu shots administered by Walgreens
- Pasco County Sheriff's Community Pill Drop Off, at which residents discarded unwanted prescription medication
- Blood drive hosted by Florida Blood Services
- Ocular health seminar about cataract- and cornea-related issues, led by a local eye surgeon- Educational nutrition seminar led by the owner of an area health food store

The Pasco County Sheriff's Community Pill Drop Off at The Groves |
While these programs have been well-received by the mature population of The Groves, Evans stresses that any community can benefit from a wellness program. She says Rizzetta & Company's community managers frequently share ideas and best practices to build wellness programs that apply to their residents.
For communities considering planning a wellness program, a few tips include: - Reach out to community organizations, such as law enforcement, pharmacies, doctors and healthy-living businesses, to see what types of programming they offer and can host on-site; - When scheduling events, make sure they don't conflict with other activities going on in the community that would negatively impact attendance; and - Concentrate on promoting the programs so residents are clear on when and where they are happening and can participate. |

Ashlyn Park | Offering an attractive alternative for training sessions and meetings, the Training Center at Ashlyn Park is starting to attract attention.
The center, located at 5020 W. Linebaugh Ave. in Tampa, near the Veterans Expressway, offers flexible meeting, conference and classroom space for up to 75 people, at competitive prices.

One of three meeting rooms available | "We are very excited about offering new meeting space to the Tampa business community, giving companies and groups an alternative to hotel meeting space," said John McKay, Vice President of Rizzetta Management Services, who is handling bookings.
The facility has quality kitchen facilities, and users aren't limited to in-house catering, so the training center can offer more affordable food and beverage options compared to many hotels.
The Urban Land Institute's Tampa Bay district council, which hosted a management meeting there, was one of the first large groups to use the training center. Now, Rizzetta Management Services is starting to spread the word about the training center through a variety of marketing channels.
Among the training center's other features: audiovisual equipment; flexible seating options; day, evening and weekend hours, free wireless Internet; and conference phones in each room.
