MAY 22, 2024

Dear Pleasantville Families,

Yesterday was filled with moments that make me proud to be part of the Pleasantville community.

The Bedford Road School hosted its annual Art Show, a display of the creativity and talents of our elementary students. Under the guidance of Erica Siciliano, affectionately known as Ms. Sis, our young artists showcased their budding skills, offering a peek into their imaginations and a glimpse into their artistic ventures.

In addition to the art show, the BRS PTA hosted both a bake sale providing flavorful offerings for all and an auction of both baked treats and baskets of goodies provided by staff members. There were raffles for purchase including the chance to be principal or assistant principal for a day. Throughout the evening students played musical instruments.

The PCO organized a BBQ where the administration, Board of Education members and parents grilled and served dinner to community members.

The school budget passed, and Michael Busch and Loredana Coughlan were elected to three-year terms as Board of Education trustees, beginning with the 24-25 school year.

I want to extend my gratitude to the community for coming out to support the Pleasantville schools. Your dedication to education reaffirms our belief in the importance of our mission: to cultivate lifelong learners, dynamic thinkers, and compassionate, contributing citizens ready to make a positive impact on the world.

As a friendly reminder, there will be no classes on Friday, May 24, and Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. Let us take this opportunity to honor and express gratitude to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard the freedoms we cherish.

For the youth,

Dr. Tina DeSa

Superintendent of Schools
